Following the opening of the U.S.-Canada land border on November 8, 2021, the Government of Canada is relaxing the requirement for PCR testing upon return to Canada for stays of less than 72 hours.
This is a first step: it will therefore be possible to make short trips by car to the United States – or even to Mexico City by plane – without needing to be tested, provided that you are fully vaccinated.
However, if you wish to fly to the United States, you will need to have an antigen test done before you leave (a US requirement).
Also, the Government of Canada has announced that it has expanded the list of vaccines recognized by the country. Until now, only Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Astra-Zeneca, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines were approved by Health Canada.
As of November 30, the following vaccines will be added to this list
All vaccinations must be completed 14 days prior to enter the country.
