Effective January 1, 2026, Air Canada has replaced Select Privileges with a new unified system of Milestone Benefits, based on Status Qualifying Credits (SQC).
With the new year, it’s time to select your Aeroplan Elite status benefits.
To go directly to your benefits selection page, click here.
Alternatively, on the home page of your Aeroplan account, go to the Benefits tab.
The Aeroplan benefits selection process consists of 2 steps.
With Aeroplan Elite 75k status, here are the first-stage choices:
Here, I’ve chosen the 35 eUpgrades credits that can also be applied to Aeroplan rewards flights and bonus points on Air Canada flights and their partners.
Once the choices have been made and validated, you will not be able to change your mind.
Here are the choices available according to your Aeroplan status:
Here’s what I’d choose for the Aeroplan Elite status level:
5 eUpgrades credits
2 passes
20 eUpgrades credits
2 Status Passes
35 eUpgrades credits
Aeroplan 35K Elite status for a friend
50 eUpgrades credits
Aeroplan 50K Elite status for a friend
Upgrade credits are now valid for 12 months after being earned. However, if you hold a premium co-branded Aeroplan credit card, their validity period is extended to 24 months.
For example, if you select these credits as a benefit on February 5, 2025, they will remain valid until February 5, 2026. Conversely, with a premium co-branded credit card, their expiration will be extended to February 5, 2027.
The points bonus applies retroactively to all flights taken since achieving this status. Thus, if you choose Aeroplan bonus points as a selected benefit later in the year, you will still receive rewards for paid flights already completed.
All members with Aeroplan Elite status can obtain passes to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges:
These passes can be shared with the person of your choice. You will simply need to download your digital pass and transmit it to the traveler (PDF or screenshot of the code).
If you are a Aeroplan 35K or higher member, you already have unlimited access to the Maple Leaf Lounges.
All criteria for obtaining Aeroplan Elite status have been detailed in this article. Please note that it is now possible to obtain the base status, Aeroplan 25K, without traveling.
Members who accumulate 100,000 Aeroplan points from any eligible source will earn Aeroplan 25K status.
Eligible sources are all base and bonus points earned directly with:
Non-eligible sources are all base and bonus points earned with:
To obtain a Aeroplan 25K status, you will have to take maximum advantage of the promotions offered via the Aeroplan eStore.
But also by charging your purchases to an Aeroplan credit card. And even your business purchases with the American Express® Aeroplan®* Business Reserve Card.
