This hotel was visited before COVID-19.
We decided to try this hotel, an Autograph Collection owned by Marriott Bonvoy, following our visit to Disneyland California theme park – and after our stay at theAnaheim Marriott Suites Hotel.
The Westdrift Manhattan Beach hotel, Autograph Collection is a category 5 hotel in the Marriott Bonvoy program.

The hotel has 7 floors, 377 rooms and 16 suites. It is also the place to be for business meetings or large wedding events as it offers 21 spacious meeting rooms.
Pets are welcome at the hotel, with an additional fee.
The Westdrift Manhattan Beach Hotel, Autograph Collection is located less than 15 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport. This makes it a great place to stay during a stopover in Los Angeles.
Many green parks are nearby as well as a beautiful sandy beach.
Finally, the hotel is connected to the superb Westdrift golf course.
The entrance is large. If necessary, it is possible to leave your car with the valet. Hotel parking is available at an additional cost, but you can find parking in the area, which I suggest you do.
The entrance hall is very large, with wooden panels allowing light to pass through, to separate the reception area from the other spaces. The design has a “chic seaside” atmosphere.
There are two lounge areas on either side of the entrance with a work area.
And many other rest areas scattered around the room. Behind the reception desk is a food counter.
That’s where we will have our breakfast the next day.
We discover bright common areas, decorated in soft colours and reminiscent of the beach.
The Suite consists of a bedroom with a king bed and a living room with a sofa bed, separated by a central bookcase.
The bathroom is right at the entrance of the Suite. A classic coffee/tea tray is placed on a sideboard in the entrance with a space to put the suitcase.
Nothing crazy about the bathroom. There is only a shower. The space is a bit tight. A closet stands in front of the bathroom door, where you will find bathrobes, iron and a safe.
As previously mentioned, there is a food counter at the end of the main hall, behind the reception.
The atmosphere is pleasant. There weren’t many people at the time staying at the hotel, so it might be different when it’s busier.
The buffet offer is rather classic, and could have been wider, but was perfectly suitable for our family. The staff was accommodating and personable when we visited (late 2019).
We got free breakfasts thanks to our Titanium status, a nice saving of $50 US!
The pool is easily accessible. It offers multiple deckchairs all around. For a hotel of this size, one would have expected more.
With a few people in the water, no problem, but again, it might be less pleasant when the hotel is full.
The fitness room offers a rather interesting choice of equipment with a good number of treadmills.
There is plenty to keep ping-pong and table football fans happy.
We enjoyed our stay at the Westdrift Manhattan Beach, Autograph Collection. The decoration of the lobby impressed us on arrival, the pool and breakfast services however did not impress us.
