After a week’s stay in Bangkok, I am in Jakarta for two nights before boarding my return flight to New York via Tokyo on All Nippon Airways – The Room.
The first night is spent at The St. Regis Jakarta. The next one will be at the Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim hotel.
To stay at The St. Regis JakartaI decided to use Marriott Bonvoy points rather than pay for my stay with my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card.

Located in the heart of Jakarta’s Golden Triangle, The St. Regis Jakarta is a luxurious showcase that celebrates the soul and cultural richness of Indonesia. This 5-star hotel combines refinement, comfort and exceptional service to offer an unforgettable hotel experience.
After a 90-minute cab ride, I arrived in front of the hotel. The St. Regis Jakarta.
From the moment you walk through the hotel doors, you’ll be greeted by a butler service, ready to attend to your every need and make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
There’s also a limousine service to take you to various points in Jakarta in a Rolls Royce.
As with all St. Regis hotels, check-in takes place away from the reception desks, comfortably seated on a sofa in The Drawing Room.
A welcome drink is brought to me.
After the welcome formalities, I’m off to my Grand Deluxe Room.
The atmosphere is luxurious and peaceful; I particularly appreciate the different colours and materials chosen for the common areas.
For my one-night hotel stay at The St. Regis JakartaI didn’t get a suite upgrade (even when negotiating via chat), as they were all occupied.
However, the King room is very comfortable and more than enough for me (the hotel later showed me a Caroline Astor suite, photos of which can be found below).
See the carousel below for all the room photos of The St. Regis Jakarta :
An excellent brownie, chocolate cubes and fruits were waiting for me as a welcome gift.
The bathroom features a large bathtub, separate from the shower. Here too, there’s virtually nothing to complain about.
Perhaps it would have been wiser to have a double basin on the washbasin side; but travelling alone this time, it’s no bother!
When you stay at a St.Regis hotel, you can request complimentary tea/coffee service at any time during your stay. Your butler will bring this to you within minutes of your request.
The next morning, I was able to “take advantage” of my room’s inner balcony to watch the rain over Jakarta.
Having insisted on the possibility of a suite upgrade, The St. Regis Jakarta made a point of showing me around one that became available early the next morning. Here are all the photos I was able to take:
In the end, the room is smaller than the one shown above.
On the other hand, the living room, which is separate from the bedroom, is a nice touch, with even a bar area!
The bathroom is identical to a standard room. The difference is the presence of a dressing table and dressing area between the bedroom and bathroom.
For gourmets, The St. Regis Jakarta offers a multitude of catering options.
Le Bel Étage, the all-day restaurant (and where breakfast is served), lets you take a culinary tour of Indonesia without leaving your table.
Taste timeless classics from the archipelago, representing Indonesia’s multicultural heritage, accompanied by a selection of fine wines from their cellar.
The buffet breakfast of The St. Regis Jakarta is undoubtedly the one that has impressed me most in recent years.
There are plenty of buffets offering dishes from all over the world. And here, there’s both quantity and, above all, quality. In my opinion, the breakfast buffet should be a MUST during your stay at this hotel. And you’ll be full for the day!
See for yourself in the many photos on the carousel below:
And if that’s not enough, you can also order other dishes and drinks à la carte, such as gourmet eggs.
For example, I chose the Toast Avocado and the Chilled Juice:
If your Marriott Bonvoy status doesn’t entitle you to complimentary breakfast, you can also access other options at the Rosé Gourmand Deli.
You’ll find a range of delicatessen, pastries and confectionery, as well as hot and cold drinks.
Unfortunately, when I visited The St. Regis Jakartaall it did was rain. Even though the outside temperature was over 30 degrees, it wasn’t necessarily pleasant to swim.
Yet the pool is inviting, with lush surroundings.
There are also pools for the little ones.
The St. Regis Bar, The St. Regis Jakartaone of the 50 best bars in the world, offers a host of exclusive cocktails and jazz evenings renowned throughout the city.
All this in an opulent setting with kinetic chandeliers and an open atmosphere.
The hotel gym The St. Regis Jakarta offers a variety of brand-new machines.
See the variety of training equipment on offer in the carousel below:
The The St. Regis Jakarta Is undoubtedly the most luxurious option for staying at a Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Jakarta. There’s nothing wrong with this establishment, where staying in points is relatively affordable!
And if you have a Platinum status or higher with Marriott Bonvoy, don’t miss the breakfast, which, as you’ve seen, is out of the ordinary!
