We had a fabulous family stay at The Laguna – a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa – Nusa Dua Bali, shortly before COVID-19, and would definitely return, especially since it has just been renovated. Here is everything the hotel offers, with a before and after.
On our family trip, we used our reward points to save money and booked the Deluxe Garden View room with a king bed and a balcony.
You can find prices starting at 35,000 points per night for this hotel. This is an excellent rate.

Located on the southeast coast of Bali, The Laguna is 20 minutes from Denpasar International Airport. It shares the sandy beach with several other resorts, including The Westin Resort Nusa Dua.
Nearby is the Pasifika Museum, a children’s art museum with 11 pavilions, the Nusa Dua Convention Center, the cape of the peninsula and the Bali National Golf Club.
A security check is carried out beforehand with the cab to check that nothing is under the car; we will then go through a security gate at the entrance to the hall and scan our suitcases. A staff member rings a gong each time a guest arrives, and two Balinese dancers in traditional dress greet you.
We were impressed by the place. The reception hall is vast and opens, overlooking nature.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
We can see that following the renovations, the three imposing counters have given way to four reception desks with a sober and chic style that highlights noble materials such as wood and marble with touches of gold.
A beautiful white Balinese stone sculpture overlooks the reception area. Another key piece of the hall, the huge central chandelier, has been preserved. This chandelier comes from Murano in Italy and is splendid.
The design pays tribute to traditional Balinese life. The hall is more elegant and the furniture chosen is less imposing.

We will be served a welcome cocktail and a refreshing towel. The children will be given a bracelet that will provide them with access to surprises throughout their stay.
We had a room with a king bed. The hotel staff had thought of everything. Details did the room perfectly. The only thing was the furniture not so young anymore. But with the recent renovations, this is no longer a problem. All rooms, suites and villas were renovated in June 2022.
This room has an office area and a loveseat area. Also, a balcony with a table and two chairs, plus a surprise: access to the lagoon! Quite original.
Again, some things needed renovation, as shown by the old electrical outlet, but overall it was adequate if a bit cramped. Bathrobes, telephone, scale, and magnifying mirror were offered.
Finally, we were entitled to a welcome gift because of our status. A basket of fruit and a plate of two delicious desserts were waiting for us on the counter under a bell.
Here are some pictures of the new modernized rooms:
The hotel offers a multitude of services to make your stay a pleasant one. As for the restaurant, you can enjoy yourself at :
The hotel also organizes evening events like Balinese blessing ceremonies and romantic dinners.
The Banyubiru room is very large for breakfast, with natural windows and authentic decoration. The place has been modernized once again, featuring bamboo and rattan.
The choice of dishes is fabulous; dishes from all over the world are laid out on multiple counters, and of course, typical dishes to my delight.
The Cornerstone Bali is nice if you want a quick snack like a good pastry. Other local products (clothes, souvenirs, etc.) are also offered. Afterwards, you can rest on the seats of the shaded terrace.
The common areas are beautiful, the greenery lush. We really feel elsewhere and well.
Here are a few more photos of the restaurants:
Finally, one of the negative points is the absence of a kid’s club. We would have loved the place even more, and so would our children. This is one of the reasons we went to The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali next. Moreover, if I remember correctly, access to the latter is possible through a long corridor at the hall’s entrance, near the first reception counter.
The Laguna offers no less than seven lagoon pools! Some rooms, suites or luxury villas have private balconies with direct access to the pools. Can you imagine yourself diving from your balcony? It is possible!
Some of them are adapted for children; the lagoons are convenient for the descent of our little ones. The beach is also very pleasant with beach chairs lined up. We alternated between the two during the day. Pools are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are all kinds of activities. Impossible to get bored:
The Laguna staff offers outdoor massages on traditional Balinese beds for those who want to relax. These canopy beds are very pleasant for a nap. They can be found all over the property.
In addition to massages on the outdoor Balinese beds, The Laguna has a spa center, LagoonSpa. It faces the Cornerstone Deli.
Finally, if you’re looking for a cardio activity, head to the fitness room. The indoor room is air-conditioned and overlooks a beautiful waterfall.
I really enjoyed this hotel The Laguna for its pools and lagoons! When we arrived, I thought the rooms and furniture were a bit old-fashioned. These renovations have really given the place a new life, and I would be happy to return!
We stayed at several Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Bali during our family trip. I suggest you read them if you plan a trip there:
