We planned our stay at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park during our family 2020 round-the-world trip before the Covid-19 period. A lovely surprise for us.
The hotel is perfect for families, although it is, at first sight, more targeted at business people: multiple meeting rooms and a Club lounge are offered. Weddings take place here too.
It could also be an excellent place to stay if you want to come to Sydney and enjoy the fireworks to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
Let’s see in detail what it offers.

The Sheraton Grand Sydney, Hyde Park Hotel, is located approximately 17 minutes from Sydney’s Kingsford-Smith Airport.
We tried several hotels in Sydney to visit the city better. This one is central, close to several cultural places, such as
As its name suggests, it also borders the beautiful and vast Hyde Park. Unfortunately, we had bad weather during our visit, but it was still lovely to walk around the neighbourhood.
Within walking distance is Sydney’s beautiful City Hall, and a little further on is the Darling Quarter, a modern, family-friendly neighbourhood with plenty of play space. Our children loved spending time there.
Prepare your visit well. Many visits and walks are possible in the area of the hotel. The famous Sydney Opera House is at about 20 minutes to walk.
At our entree, we come across an imposing central wooden and marble staircase and two majestic marble columns. We register on the first floor in a room on the side of this staircase.
Behind this structure, several spaces are available for resting or working. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. A Moët et Chandon champagne bottle dispenser was at the entrance.
We got a room on the 17th floor with a king bed. As we were with the children, an extra bed was installed for them.
The room was nice and elegant. We had a corner with a sofa and an armchair to rest and an office corner. The bed was comfortable and had two bedside tables with the essentials.
The lighting was well arranged, creating a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to coffee and tea, the bar area offered a variety of alcoholic beverages and refreshments in a mini-fridge or snack bar.
Finally, the bathroom was modern and had the advantage of having a shower and a bathtub, which is practical when you are with little ones. We had an open and well-lit closet area with drawers and rods.
At this hotel, two restaurants are offered:
So with the status, we were happy to be able to enjoy the Club lounge. Especially since it offered a wide selection of products.
Finally, there is the Conservatory Bar for those who wish to have a drink in the evening. A sublime place with its massive glass panel open to nature!
We had access to the Sheraton Club Lounge, but we took our breakfast at the Feast as it was included with our titanium status; we tried the latter. The buffet was very pleasantly surprising as it was very well stocked. You only have to look at the pictures to see that.
The Sheraton Lounge or Club is a beautiful room with natural lighting that surrounds the buffet with light. The spaces are decorated in a sober and chic way. Alcoves create intimate spaces.
Also, you can enjoy a breath of fresh air on an outdoor terrace and admire the great view of Sydney. You can see the Cathedral of Saint Mary, for example.
The Sheraton Club Lounge was perfect for an end-of-day break with the kids and a bite to eat. Once again, a beautiful buffet was available to guests and regularly replenished with equally good and beautiful dishes.
The indoor pool is located on the roof and is heated. We could enjoy it from 6 am to 9 pm after our visits. A small plus, as it is located on the top floor, we enjoy a beautiful view of the city.
And in the evening, an entirely different atmosphere is offered to us. Our daughter had a blast having the pool all to herself.
The hotel offers a fitness room with cardio equipment and spa service.
We had a wonderful stay with our family at this Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park hotel. All the conditions are met to have a good time, rest and visit the city.
