During my trip to Bali, I tried the ResortPass platform for the first time by booking a day pass at the Hanging Gardens of Bali.
If you are not familiar with day passes, you can find a complete presentation in our article on the subject:
Hanging Gardens of Bali is a luxury hotel set in the Balinese jungle, offering 44 private villas. The resort is renowned for its infinity pools, spa, gourmet restaurant and views over the Ayung River valley.
One-night rates start at around CAD 1,000, but with a day pass, you can enjoy this enchanting place for a fraction of the price!
The hotel is about 30 minutes from the center of Ubud. You can get there by taxi, Grab or arrange a shuttle service directly with the hotel. If you have a car or motorcycle, there’s also free parking on site.
Hanging Gardens of Bali is the only hotel in Bali available on ResortPass. The day pass sells for 194 CAD per adult and 97 CAD per child. To this price must be added the ResortPass platform service fee (around 20 CAD).
Since ResortPass charges in U.S. dollars, it’s best to pay with a credit card with no foreign currency conversion charges to save 2.5% on the total.
The day pass includes:
The Three Elements restaurant is spread over two floors, with a patio next to the pool.
At the time of my lunch, I was the only customer on site. The menu consists mainly of Western dishes, with a few seafood options. For my part, I chose the tuna tataki as a starter, the bebek betutu (grilled duck) as a main course and the tiramisu mille-feuille to finish.
The two infinity pools at Hanging Gardens of Bali are suspended above the rainforest, offering impressive views of the valley. Towels are provided, as is the first cocktail.
Before or after your swim, you can enjoy a 60-minute foot massage. The spa is located further down, and an employee will take you up on the cogwheel train. Once again, the service is extremely attentive and the spa’s ambience is ideal for relaxation.
Adding up the value of each service included in the day pass, we arrive at approximately 1,990,000 IDR, or about 175 CAD:
This means that access to the site and pool costs around CAD 40 for the day, a very good deal for such a luxurious hotel!
I recommend the day pass at Hanging Gardens of Bali for couples, solo travelers or friends looking for a relaxing day out. The food is delicious, the staff are attentive and the location is beautiful. However, the site is not suitable for young children, due to the infinity pool without railings and the very steep location.
My first experience with ResortPass was very positive. The day pass is a concept I’ll definitely be trying again on my next vacation.
