During my trip to Bangkok, my goal was to visit several Marriott Bonvoy hotels of different categories to help you choose the best one for your needs:
Please note that we already visited The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok for Milesopedia.
Le Méridien Bangkok is the second hotel in the series. This hotel was completely renovated and reopened in early 2023.
When I stayed at Le Méridien Bangkok, it cost almost $380 a night or 30,000 points. An unusually high cash price for Thailand!
So it was much better to use Marriott Bonvoy points than to pay that price.

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points for free stays at over 8,000 hotels worldwide is to have the Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card (and/or the Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Card).
In addition to the exceptional welcome bonus of each of these two cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all your purchases and 5 points per dollar at any of the Marriott establishments. On top of that, every year, you’ll receive a free hotel night certificate (worth 35,000 points) and 15 Elite Night Credits toward your Marriott Bonvoy status.
Nestled in the bustling Silom district and surrounded by restaurants, bars, nightlife and cultural highlights, Le Méridien Bangkok is an ideal base for adventurous travellers looking to experience the energetic atmosphere of this global metropolis.
The hotel is just steps away from Patpong, Bangkok’s famous night market. At the same time, Sala Daeng BTS and Sam Yan MRT stations provide easy access to the city’s iconic sites, from glittering temples to modern shopping centers.
The night before, I was at the Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 hotel. After about 15 minutes in a taxi, I arrived at Le Méridien Bangkok. I was able to check in via the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app.
As I enter the newly renovated Le Méridien Bangkok hotel, I am greeted by I-Jud, the imposing white dog statue that has become a local symbol. This whimsical piece embodies the artistic essence of the Le Meridien brand and leaves a delightful first impression on international visitors.
The lobby is vast and bathed in natural light. There is a café and various seating areas.
During the check-in process, I was served a non-alcoholic cocktail, which was very appreciated considering the heat!
The common areas of Le Méridien Bangkok are modern and sober, just like the Le Méridien brand.
The room at Le Méridien Bangkok offers modern technology, including a smart LED TV and Bluetooth speakers.
The ergonomic design includes comfortable sofas, extra-long work desks, plenty of electrical outlets and large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer colourful views of the city.
On the bathroom side, there is a deep bathtub and a separate rain shower.
It is an ideal bathroom to relax after a long trip or a day of exploring Bangkok.
Le Méridien Bangkok offers an excellent buffet breakfast. Elite members (Platinum or Titanium) can have breakfast here for free (or choose to have breakfast in the hotel lounge).
The breakfast room is bathed in natural light, so it’s a great place to be in the morning before exploring Bangkok!
As you can see, the breakfast room at Le Méridien Bangkok features Le Méridien’s chic decor.
The dishes served at breakfast are of high quality. Here is an example of what I had (you can order a Thai-style omelette which I recommend)!
Check out the photo gallery below to see all the dishes available for breakfast:
Are you an Elite member (Platinum or Titanium), or have you booked a Club-level room? Good news! You can access Le Méridien Club Lounge.
It is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.
Le Méridien Club Lounge offers three specific periods during which you can eat:
I went to Le Meridien Club Lounge in the evening to have dinner and enjoy a beautiful sunset over Bangkok.
Here are the different dishes and drinks offered:
The rooftop pool at Le Méridien Bangkok is charming after a day of walking in Bangkok.
There are plenty of sun loungers, a wading pool for the kids and a bar offering excellent cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
The SPA by Le Méridien offers seven treatment rooms, while the fitness center features state-of-the-art equipment for energizing workouts.
The sports equipment is of high quality.
When you stay at Le Meridien Bangkok, you are next to Patpong. To relax from a day of sightseeing in Bangkok, I went to the Botanika massage center (Sala Daeng), 300 meters from the hotel. I recommend the Thai massage services (you can book via WhatsApp).

If you’re looking for an upscale, newly renovated hotel, Le Meridien Bangkok is an excellent choice. I would not have paid this rate in cash; however, it is more than worth this rate in Marriott Bonvoy points, given the quality of the services offered. For example, you could use your Annual Free Night Award from your Marriott Bonvoy credit card at this property!
