Shoppers Drug Mart Drug Mart has been owned by Loblaw since 2014. Their loyalty programs will be increasingly complementary.

The Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum loyalty program has an uncertain future, as we have already seen, with an end date – for the time being – of December 31, 2016.
Loblaw would like to combine the two loyalty programs: PC Plus & Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum into one.
The latest example is the ability to transfer your points from one account to another.
Some members of the program would have received an email mentioning this possibility. It seems that this is not yet open to all members, however, if you want to take the test, here are the pages to go to:
Try both, you never know.
Unfortunately, I was not able to complete the experiment because “my account is not yet eligible”.
Loblaws would have decided to give full value to both types of points:
You can certainly get $200 from your 95,000 Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum points 2-3 times a year, but the opportunities are rare.
This is a first step in the “synergy” of the two loyalty programs. If you are eligible, this is a good opportunity to take advantage of because the transfer is two-way.
Some people may prefer to store at Shoppers Drug Mart (for electronics or cosmetics for example), while others may prefer to have PC Plus points to reduce their grocery bill!
As for me, I will continue to accumulate Optimum Shoppers Drug Mart points thanks to the weekly promotions that are more generous than those of PC Plus, with a view to transferring everything into PC points by the end of the year to reduce my grocery bill!
