In the Milesopedia Facebook group, questions have come up frequently since the changes announced by Marriott Bonvoy last October.

Somewhere in March, there is the benefit that Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to combine the Annual Free Night Award with points (up to 15,000 points).

But there is a more uncertain change on the horizon: the introduction of dynamic pricing. Thus, the hotel categories will disappear and will be replaced by a points rate that will vary according to the cash rates.

In anticipation of all of this, Marriott Bonvoy has recently redesigned its website. Its homepage and the whole design of the site have changed in the last few days (making the categories disappear on the pages of each hotel).

Then, yesterday, a new function appeared in the search tool.

Previously, when searching with flexible dates, you had to click on each individual hotel page to see the price or cost in points.

It is now possible to find out all this from the search tool in the English version of the site. We imagine that the French version will follow soon.

Here’s how to do it:

• On the search page, enter your city and the number of people as usual
• For the date, check the “My dates are flexible” box
• Click on “Done” and “Find hotels” to start your search

By clicking on “Lowest Rates Calendar”, a section expands and a calendar appears.

This way, we can check the rates for the whole month, directly in the search results.

This was not possible before. You had to open every website of the hotel and check them one by one.

Our favourite dates are highlighted in black, but the rest of the calendar is also shown for comparison. To see the other months, you can switch between “Previous Month” and “Next Month.”

Searching for flexible dates and paying with points also gives the same thing.

This tool is still a bit unstable. Besides, some errors may appear occasionally, or the calendars’ option suddenly disappears.

This should resolve itself shortly. Give it a try!

This change makes finding a hotel room at the best price much more efficient!

This will come in handy when analyzing the various options, primarily when Marriott Bonvoy gets rid of categories in March 2022. We don’t know the date, but we will keep you informed as soon as we know.
