Hilton Honors is currently offering a 100% bonus on points purchases: for any purchase of 5,000 points or more made between June 10, 2026 and July 24, 2026, the number of points received is doubled. In practical terms, buying 40,000 points deposits 80,000 into the member’s account. The promotion is reserved for certain members based on the offers shown in their account: check whether the bonus appears by logging in to your Hilton Honors account, in the Buy Points section.
Before you buy, here are the terms published by Hilton Honors for this promotion:
As a reminder, our review of the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa showed a night booked for 40,000 Hilton Honors points for a room priced from US$239, which we estimate at about CA$220 in redemption value. This type of comparison helps you judge whether buying points, even with a bonus, is still worthwhile for a specific stay rather than buying them “blind.”
A 100% bonus essentially halves the real cost of each purchased point compared to the regular price shown at the time of the transaction. It’s one of the most generous bonuses Hilton Honors offers on points purchases, making it an option to consider if you have a specific stay in mind and you’re short on points to complete a booking.
That said, buying points without a specific destination in mind is rarely optimal, regardless of the bonus. Purchased points don’t help you progress toward status, and their redemption value varies widely from one hotel to another. Best practice: first calculate the points cost of a specific night you plan to book, then compare it to the equivalent cash rate before buying.
To earn Hilton Honors points without paying cash, several transferable or co-branded travel credit cards can also help you get there. Check out our comparison of the best credit cards in Canada to see the current options.
