A Direct Flight From Montreal to Lisbon With Tap Air Portugal
To the point TAP Air Portugal debuts its nonstop flight between Lisbon and Montreal, good news for Aeroplan members!

Montreal - Lisbon

Last year, TAP Air Portugal announced the opening of a nonstop flight between Lisbon (LIS) and Montreal (YUL) in the summer of 2020 with 6 weekly flights. Also, a nonstop flight between Boston (BOS) and Ponta Delgada (PDL) in the Acores, with 5 flights per week.

All these flights will operate with its new aircraft, an Airbus A321LR and were available for sale as of November 25, 2019. Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic happened and has somewhat pushed back the plans.

However, today, TAP Air Portugal announces that flights will debut as early as August 2020, with the first flight arriving Sunday, August 2nd in Montreal!

For August 2020, there will be three flights per week, with the goal of reaching five flights per week in September:

Flight Origin Departure Arrival Destination Frequency
TP253 Lisbon 19:50 22:35 Montreal Tuesday. Thursday, Sunday
TP254 Montreal 20:40 08:20 (+1) Lisbon Monday, Wednesday, Saturday

With Aeroplan

This is good news for Aeroplan members as TAP Air Portugal does not charge any carrier surcharges on its reward tickets.

Between North America and Portugal, a flight reward costs:

  • 30,000 Aeroplan miles one-way in economy class
  • 55,000 Aeroplan miles one-way in business class

And only a few dollars in taxes.
