Earning AAdvantage Miles to Travel to Fiji
Canadian residents have two loyalty programs at their disposal that allow them to transfer points to AAdvantage: Marriott Bonvoy and RBC Avion Rewards.
For example, you can convert Marriott Bonvoy points earned with Marriott Bonvoy credit card spending or hotel stays and transfer them to AAdvantage at a 3:1 ratio.
It’s even possible to make a double transfer (especially during promotional periods to earn a bonus): transfer your Membership Rewards points accumulated with the American Express Cobalt® Card for example, to Marriott Bonvoy at a ratio of 1:1.2, then transfer these points from your Marriott Bonvoy account to AAdvantage.
It’s not necessarily always the best use of points, but it’s still an option to consider when you want to pay for your flights with points and miles rather than cash.
With Avion Rewards, you can transfer your points to AAdvantage at a ratio of 1.43:1, which can be attractive depending on the price in AAdvantage miles.
Bottom Line
This expansion is excellent news for AAdvantage members in Canada, offering new opportunities to use miles for trips to the idyllic destinations of the South Pacific. Full integration into oneworld ensures a seamless travel experience and elite benefits across the entire network.
