RBC Avion Rewards points can be used in various ways:
Transferring Avion points is very advantageous for people who want even more flexibility. This further expands the horizons to other redemption possibilities with certain airlines.
Avion Rewards points can be transferred to four airline partners, as well as to Triangle Rewards (Canadian Tire) as of 2026:
There are several RBC Avion credit cards linked to the Avion Rewards program.
The other cards that allow you to earn Avion points are:
One of the best is the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card. It has reasonable annual fees and its welcome offer is easy to obtain.
First, you need to access your profile in RBC Online Banking.
At the top of the page, click on Exchange.
Scroll down to the Transfer points section, then click on Convert to another program.
You will now see five partners for conversion: four airline partners (American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and WestJet), as well as Triangle Rewards (Canadian Tire), a new partner added in 2026. Click on the partner you want.
If there is a technical problem with the transfer, call 1-800-769-2512 or 1-888-769-2534 (for Business cards).
Allow up to four weeks for RBC Avion points to be transferred to other airline program accounts.
The partner program account (Avios, Asia Miles, AAdvantage, or WestJet) must belong to the same account holder as the RBC Royal Bank credit card account used for the transfer. Once converted, points cannot be converted back to Avion points.
One of the most popular partners is British Airways.
Then click on Calculate and confirm the information to complete the transaction.
10,000 Avion points = 10,000 Avios points.
Several ideas for cheap flights or sweetspots to discover in this post on Avios.
Once or twice a year, there are transfer bonuses when converting RBC Avion points to British Airways Avios points. The minimum bonus is 30%, and it’s worth waiting for, if you can. You can find the dates of the last promotion here:
10,000 Avion points = 7,000 AAdvantage points.
There are also sometimes transfer promotions between RBC Avion and AAdvantage.
10,000 Avion points = 10,000 Asia Miles.
Just like with AAdvantage, you can take advantage of a transfer bonus between RBC Avion and Asia Miles.
10,000 Avion points = 10,000 WestJet points.
Another way to get WestJet points is to get the WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡.
As of 2026, you can also convert your Avion points into CT Money, the currency of Canadian Tire’s Triangle Rewards program, directly from the Exchange section.
140 Avion points = $1 in CT Money, a value of about 0.71 cents per Avion point. This option is less advantageous than airline transfers or the travel redemption chart, but it’s worth considering if you have no short-term travel plans.
There’s also a second part to this partnership: linking your RBC credit card to your Triangle Rewards account to earn 3x CT Money on your Canadian Tire purchases. See our full guide to the RBC x Canadian Tire partnership for all the details.
RBC Avion Rewards points are versatile and can go a long way!
Now all you have to do is wait for the newly transferred points to appear in the new program. You will then need to book your flight tickets on the airline’s website. So check availability before making your transfers.
If none of these transfer options interest you, you can simply use your Avion points within the rewards program and redeem them for travel rewards. Read our complete guide on the subject:
