Air Canada launches regional connections by luxury motorcoach

To the point Air Canada has announced its partnership with transport company Landline to link Hamilton and Waterloo Region airports to Toronto Pearson Airport.

With this top-of-the-range service, Air Canada is demonstrating its commitment to improving regional services.

These luxury motorcoach connections will kick off in May 2024, as a pilot project. If successful, this service could be extended to other regional airports.

Travelers will enjoy six daily direct round-trip motorcoach services between Toronto Pearson Airport and the Hamilton and Waterloo Region airports.

Benefits include :

  • On-board access cards issued for all trip segments;
  • Checked luggage, loaded on the coach;
  • Baggage automatically placed on board the connecting flight at Toronto Pearson airport.

In the event of a coach or flight delay, Air Canada has indicated that its customers will have access to the same re-routing options as those available to those traveling by air only.

Aeroplan members will earn points for both ground and air segments.

Luxury motorcoach for hassle-free travel

 

The Canadian-made motorcoaches feature 36 spacious leather seats arranged in 2-1 rows.

On board, you’ll find :

  • Free Wi-Fi service;
  • Sockets;
  • One shelf for each seat;
  • Large overhead storage space for carry-on luggage;
  • Toilets.

An electric lift will be available for customers requiring mobility assistance.

An alternative to the car

Air Canada mentioned that this regional service also advances its sustainable development programs. With these motorcoaches, customers will no longer have to take their cars.

This service “could take tens of thousands of vehicles off the road every year”, says Alexandre Lefèvre, Air Canada’s Vice President – Network Planning – North America and Air Operations Program.

Air Canada offers its customers stress-free travel, with easy connections, baggage transfer and full itinerary handling, all while earning Aeroplan points.
