How do I Check-In My Luggage in Advance?

Passengers flying with Air France from Paris-Charles de Gaulle can check in their baggage in advance. The Air France baggage drop-off area is open to passengers the day before their flight, from 4pm to 8pm, in terminal 2E. To get there, go to the departures level, near check-in areas 12 and 13.

This service is available to all passengers whose flight departs from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and whose destination is in the Americas, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. Some destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East served by Air France also offer the baggage drop-off service. For flights to the USA, this service is only available from 24 hours before departure.

Passengers flying to Algeria, Armenia, Israel, Georgia, Morocco, Russia, Tunisia and Ukraine are unfortunately not entitled to the Air France baggage drop-off service.

To benefit from the program, passengers must present themselves in person with their luggage and travel documents, such as an up-to-date passport. Travelling with your family? No need to run errands as a group. Only the person with parental authority should go to the airport to drop off everyone’s luggage. Of course, it is required that he or she takes part in the trip, and they must bring the documents of each family member travelling.

With Children

If your child is traveling alone, you must drop off his/her luggage on the day of departure. With Kids Solo, Air France‘s child-friendly service, you can check-in in two ways.

  1. Online, on the Air France website, in the Check-in section, from 30 hours before departure. Once registration is complete, a confirmation document will be issued.
  2. On the day of departure, at the airport check-in desk. Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before the check-in end time indicated on your child’s ticket.

We recommend that you check in any baggage that your child is not able to carry on his or her own.

With Animals

Air France allows its passengers to travel with pets. A dog or cat weighing no more than 8 kg (including bag) and aged at least 15 weeks old may be carried in the cabin, subject to prior approval by Customer Service. Cats and dogs between 8 kg and 75 kg must travel in the hold. Animals traveling in the hold must be checked in at the airport on the day of departure.
