To the point Transat and Porter Airlines are launching new sun packages combining Porter's non-stop flights with Transat's tour operator expertise. Four destinations, three departure cities, starting November 2026.

Transat and Porter Airlines have just reached a new milestone in their partnership. On May 4, 2026, the two carriers announced the launch of all-in-one sun packages combining Porter’s non-stop flights with Transat’s tour operator expertise. This is the first time Porter has entered the structured vacation package market since the start of their joint venture signed in late 2023.

This announcement is a game-changer for Canadian travelers looking to combine flights and hotels to the South. And for VIPorter point holders, it is excellent news, as we will see later.

Four Sun Destinations on the Program

The new Transat packages on Porter flights cover four popular sun destinations:

  • Nassau (Bahamas): a new destination in the Transat portfolio
  • Grand Cayman (George Town): also a new addition
  • Cancún (Mexico): a destination already served, now with more flight options
  • Puerto Vallarta (Mexico): also with an expanded offering

Each destination offers a curated selection of hotels, with a mix of all-inclusive packages and European plans depending on the establishment. Note: for Cancún and Puerto Vallarta, packages now offer a choice between flights operated by Porter or Air Transat, providing more flexibility at the time of booking.

Departures and Travel Dates

Packages are available departing from Toronto, Ottawa, and Hamilton, for travel starting November 1, 2026. For reference, packages on the Toronto–Cancún route with all-inclusive resorts in Riviera Maya start at $1,759 CAD for 6 nights in November 2026 (prices may fluctuate based on availability).

How to Book These Packages

Please note: bookings can only be made through Transat channels, either on transat.com or through the partner travel agency network. Packages are not available on flyporter.com. Transat acts as the tour operator, while Porter is the air carrier for the flights involved.

The VIPorter Points Angle

For those looking to maximize VIPorter point accumulation before their next trip, BMO VIPorter cards remain the best tools on the Canadian market. A recent update also allows you to redeem VIPorter points on Air Transat and Alaska Airlines, which significantly expands the possibilities.

BMO VIPorter Cards

If you plan to book one of these new packages, now is the time to take a look at the two BMO VIPorter cards. They allow you to earn VIPorter points directly on your daily purchases.

A Growing Joint Venture

Since the joint venture signed in late 2023 between Air Transat and Porter, the two carriers have been progressively aligning their networks. The goal: to facilitate connections between Porter’s North American network and Air Transat’s international destinations. This new announcement confirms that the partnership now goes beyond simple codesharing to enter the territory of complete vacation packages.
