Porter Airlines at Montreal’s MET Airport: 12 Routes Starting June 2026

Saint-Hubert Airport Porter
To the point Porter Airlines will be the inaugural carrier at the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET) with 12 Canadian routes starting June 15, 2026.

Porter Airlines will be the first carrier to operate from the new Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET), located in Longueuil on the South Shore. Starting June 15, 2026, the company will launch 12 non-stop routes to Canadian destinations, from Quebec City to Vancouver. This expansion represents a 91% increase in Porter’s summer capacity in the Montreal region.

MET Airport (code YHU), formerly known as Saint-Hubert Airport, offers a convenient alternative to Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) for more than half of the Greater Montreal population. Porter will continue to serve YUL in parallel, bringing the total to 244 weekly departures from the metropolis. If you are looking to maximize your VIPorter points or take advantage of the best travel credit cards, these new routes offer numerous opportunities.

A New Airport for Greater Montreal

The MET terminal was developed and is operated by YHU Infrastructure Partners. The concept focuses on a compact and open design, with a spacious departure lounge and comfortable seating. The objective: to reduce time spent at the airport while offering a pleasant experience.

Located in Longueuil, MET is easily accessible from downtown Montreal and central districts. For residents of the South Shore, Montérégie, and Eastern Greater Montreal, it is a significantly faster option than Montreal-Trudeau. Furthermore, the opening of MET represents a major private investment in the region’s transportation infrastructure.

In total, Porter will have 138 weekly departures from MET and 106 from YUL, for a total of 244 departures per week from Montreal. Flights are already on sale at flyporter.com and through travel agencies.

Six New Non-Stop Destinations

Among the 12 routes, six are entirely new destinations from Montreal for Porter: Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Charlottetown, Winnipeg, and Moncton. The other six (Quebec City, St. John’s, Toronto Billy Bishop, Toronto Pearson, Halifax, and Hamilton) complement existing flights from YUL.

Two Airports, More Choices

Porter maintains its operations at Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) in parallel. The simultaneous service to MET and YUL allows travelers to choose the most convenient airport based on their departure point, destination, and schedule.

Porter has been serving Montreal-Trudeau since the company’s founding in 2006. The addition of MET does not replace YUL; it expands the offering. Furthermore, a partnership with Pascan Aviation, based at MET, offers connections to regions of Quebec and the Maritimes on a single ticket, with included baggage transfer.

Aircraft and Onboard Experience

MET will be served by two types of aircraft: the De Havilland Dash 8-400 (78 seats) and the Embraer E195-E2 (132 seats). No Porter aircraft has a middle seat.

  • No middle seat: 2-2 configuration on both aircraft types, for optimal comfort
  • Complimentary snacks and beverages: Premium snacks, beer, wine, and drinks served in real glassware
  • Free WiFi: Fast and free connection on Embraer E195-E2 aircraft
  • 4-Star Airline: Porter holds SkyTrax Official 4 Star Airline certification

In three years, Porter has integrated 52 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft into its fleet. This rapid growth has enabled the addition of transcontinental flights within Canada and to the United States, as well as routes to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The network now comprises 112 routes to 49 destinations.

Bottom Line

The arrival of Porter Airlines at MET marks a turning point for air transport in Greater Montreal. With 12 coast-to-coast routes, a modern terminal, and a recognized passenger experience, MET establishes itself as a concrete alternative to Montreal-Trudeau for travelers from the South Shore and the eastern part of the metropolis.
