Looking to get the most from your Aventura Points?
The CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart offers travellers a valuable way to redeem Aventura Points for round-trip flights to destinations around the world.
Whether you’re just planning a short hop over to a nearby province or territory or a grand adventure to the other side of the world, the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart can help you maximize your points.
The CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart lets you use your Aventura Points to cover the cost of the base fare for round-trip flights around the world.
The chart is separated into 5 categories, seen in the image just below. Each category lists how many Aventura Points you need and the maximum cost these points will cover:
Determining the exact number of Aventura Points that you’ll need for your redemption can be a bit complicated. The number of points required for each redemption will vary depending on the following:
Also, keep in mind that the listed ranges of points only cover up to the maximum base fare of each category. This means that you’ll need to pay for taxes, fees, surcharges, and any price overages with either your CIBC credit card or additional points at a rate of 1 Aventura Point = 1 cent.
A few other important things to be aware of when using the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart:
Now, to better understand how the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart works, let’s look at each of the 5 categories.
The first category in the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is for short-haul flights in Canada and the US that are either within a province, territory, or US state, or to an adjoining province, territory or US state.
For these award flight, you’ll need to redeem between 10,000 and 20,000 Aventura Points for a base fare of up to $400.
This category is great for a long-weekend trip to somewhere like New York City or for an adventure to Toronto or Montreal for a concert, festival, or sports event like the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The second category in the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is for long-haul flights from any location in Canada/US to any location in Canada/US (except Hawaii and Alaska).
To enjoy your cross-country award flight, you can expect to redeem 25,000 to 35,000 Aventura Points for a maximum base fare of up to $800.
For travellers looking to explore some of the further reaches of Canada, this category can help make your trips more accessible and affordable.
As an example, you could redeem your Aventura Points for a flight between Toronto and Whitehorse to see the northern lights, or from Montreal to Halifax to explore the Atlantic provinces.
The third category of the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart lets you stretch your wings even further with the ability to book an award flight from any location in Canada or the US to any location in Mexico, Hawaii, Central America, and the Caribbean.
To access these destinations, you’ll need between 40,000 and 60,000 Aventura Points, and these can be redeemed for a maximum base fare of up to $1,000.
It’s worth noting here that some of CIBC’s Aventura credit cards let you earn welcome offers of more than 40,000 Aventura Points.
This means that just by signing up for a credit card and meeting the welcome offer’s requirements you could save substantially on a flight to somewhere warm this winter!
Regardless of whether you want to enjoy the food, drinks, and culture of Mexico City or the sunshine and beaches on an island in the Caribbean, the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart can help make it happen.
With the fourth category of the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart, you can take off from major travel hubs in Canada and the US and head to select popular destinations in Europe.
To get your European sojourn in the books, you can redeem 50,000 to 70,000 Aventura Points for a maximum base fare of $1,300, giving you plenty of ways to save on your flights.
With this category, it’s important to keep in mind that not every airport is bookable through the Rewards Chart.
Although you can expect to find most of the popular destinations in your award flight searches, some airports won’t be bookable, so you may need to be flexible with your itinerary.
The fifth and final category of the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is for all other destinations not previously listed.
This category covers round-trip economy flights from major airports in Canada and the US to select destinations in Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Middle East, and South America.
For these redemptions, you’ll need to have between 75,000 and 125,000 Aventura Points, and these can be redeemed for a base fare of up to $2,000.
Similarly to the Europe category above, award flights in this category are limited to “select destinations,” so you may not be able to fly directly to your airport of choice.
To redeem your Aventura Points using the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart, begin by logging in on the CIBC Rewards website.
Once you sign in, you’ll see your Aventura Points balance. From this page, you can navigate to the CIBC Rewards Travel by Expedia page. In this case, it looks like an airplane icon.
Now, using the CIBC by Expedia travel portal, you can look up the round-trip flight that you’d like book.
Keep in mind that for the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart to come into effect you need to i) have enough points to cover 80% of the base fare cost, and ii) the route needs to be eligible. If your route is not eligible or you don’t have enough points, you’ll only see the Flexible Points option.
Once you’ve selected your departure/arrival airports and dates, click “Search.” You’ll then see all the available flights and their cost in Aventura Points and cash.
As seen below, the search results are divided between the Flexible Points column and the Aventura Flight Rewards column.
In the example below, you can see that using the Flexible Points (Flex travel) option costs $731 or 73,123 points (1 Aventura Point = 1 cent).
Comparatively, if you use the Flight Rewards option, you can cover the base fare for 35,000 points and then just pay $183 for the taxes, fees, and surcharges.
From here, you can select the flight and fare details that best suit you and your points balance.
You’ll then need to enter some personal information to book the ticket.
After entering your personal information, it’s time to check-out and redeem your Aventura Points.
At this stage, you’ll redeem the set number of Aventura Points for the base fare amount. Then, you just pay the remaining amount with your CIBC credit card or with Aventura Points and you’re ready to fly!
If you don’t find a redemption you like with the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart, don’t worry!
There are a few other ways to redeem your Aventura Points, although none of them offer the same value as the Rewards Chart.
Additional redemption options for your Aventura Points include:
To earn Aventura Points, you need to spend on one of CIBC’s Aventura credit cards.
These cards range from an entry-level no-annual-fee option like the CIBC Aventura® Visa* Card all the way up to the benefit-laden CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, with each card earning Aventura Points on all purchases.
Additionally, all of the Aventura credit cards offer travel-focused perks, with the range of benefits expanding and improving for the more premium cards.
For example, depending on the Aventura card you choose, you can enjoy benefits such as airport lounge access, a NEXUS application rebate, and an annual travel credit to make your adventures more convenient, more luxurious, and more fun!
The Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is a great way to maximize the value of your Aventura Points for a round-trip economy flight.
Whether you’re planning a short trip close to home or a grand adventure to somewhere dramatically different, the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart can help you redeem well and save money.
