What is the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart?

The CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart lets you use your Aventura Points to cover the cost of the base fare for round-trip flights around the world.

The chart is separated into 5 categories, seen in the image just below. Each category lists how many Aventura Points you need and the maximum cost these points will cover:

Aventura Chart - Destination chart EN

Determining the exact number of Aventura Points that you’ll need for your redemption can be a bit complicated. The number of points required for each redemption will vary depending on the following:

  • The base fare of your chosen flights
  • Your route (departure and arrival locations)
  • The dates you want to travel

Also, keep in mind that the listed ranges of points only cover up to the maximum base fare of each category. This means that you’ll need to pay for taxes, fees, surcharges, and any price overages with either your CIBC credit card or additional points at a rate of 1 Aventura Point = 1 cent.

Things to keep in mind

A few other important things to be aware of when using the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart:

  • Flights must depart from and return to the same city
  • You cannot book one-way, multi-city, or open-jaw flights
  • In order to redeem you must have at least 80% of the points necessary to cover the base fare of the flight
  • Routes to Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America, the Middle East, and Africa are typically limited to main hubs. That said, there are a handful of smaller airports sprinkled into the search results. We recommend you search your preferred route to start and make adjustments to nearby airports if needed.
  • Aventura Points can also save you money on travel a few other ways! If you don’t find the redemption you’re after with the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart, it’s definitely worth exploring your other options.

Now, to better understand how the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart works, let’s look at each of the 5 categories.

Canada and US (short-haul)

The first category in the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is for short-haul flights in Canada and the US that are either within a province, territory, or US state, or to an adjoining province, territory or US state.

For these award flight, you’ll need to redeem between 10,000 and 20,000 Aventura Points for a base fare of up to $400.

This category is great for a long-weekend trip to somewhere like New York City or for an adventure to Toronto or Montreal for a concert, festival, or sports event like the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Canada and US (long-haul)

The second category in the CIBC Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is for long-haul flights from any location in Canada/US to any location in Canada/US (except Hawaii and Alaska).

To enjoy your cross-country award flight, you can expect to redeem 25,000 to 35,000 Aventura Points for a maximum base fare of up to $800.

For travellers looking to explore some of the further reaches of Canada, this category can help make your trips more accessible and affordable.

As an example, you could redeem your Aventura Points for a flight between Toronto and Whitehorse to see the northern lights, or from Montreal to Halifax to explore the Atlantic provinces.

Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Central America, and Caribbean

The third category of the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart lets you stretch your wings even further with the ability to book an award flight from any location in Canada or the US to any location in Mexico, Hawaii, Central America, and the Caribbean.

To access these destinations, you’ll need between 40,000 and 60,000 Aventura Points, and these can be redeemed for a maximum base fare of up to $1,000.

It’s worth noting here that some of CIBC’s Aventura credit cards let you earn welcome offers of more than 40,000 Aventura Points.

This means that just by signing up for a credit card and meeting the welcome offer’s requirements you could save substantially on a flight to somewhere warm this winter!

Regardless of whether you want to enjoy the food, drinks, and culture of Mexico City or the sunshine and beaches on an island in the Caribbean, the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart can help make it happen.

Europe

With the fourth category of the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart, you can take off from major travel hubs in Canada and the US and head to select popular destinations in Europe.

To get your European sojourn in the books, you can redeem 50,000 to 70,000 Aventura Points for a maximum base fare of $1,300, giving you plenty of ways to save on your flights.

With this category, it’s important to keep in mind that not every airport is bookable through the Rewards Chart.

Although you can expect to find most of the popular destinations in your award flight searches, some airports won’t be bookable, so you may need to be flexible with your itinerary.

Rest of the world

The fifth and final category of the Aventura Flight Rewards Chart is for all other destinations not previously listed.

This category covers round-trip economy flights from major airports in Canada and the US to select destinations in Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific, Middle East, and South America.

For these redemptions, you’ll need to have between 75,000 and 125,000 Aventura Points, and these can be redeemed for a base fare of up to $2,000.

Similarly to the Europe category above, award flights in this category are limited to “select destinations,” so you may not be able to fly directly to your airport of choice.
