Update: From 2024-2025, this lifestyle credit will be based on the calendar year, rather than the year in which the card is held. You won’t be able to have it “twice”. We leave this article as an archive.
BMO offers an annual credit called “lifestyle”:
Unlike other card that require you to use this type of credit for travel, with BMO you can use it as you wish.
To obtain this account credit, simply charge a purchase over $50 to your BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card or over $200 to your BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege* Card.
You will see your Lifestyle Credit on your BMO credit card account on the statement following your expense over $50 or $200.
This is done every calendar year. In fact, the clock resets on January 1st of each year.
So, in your first year as a BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card or BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege* Card holder, you could get this credit twice!
For example, if you sign up for the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card in July, you’ll earn your $50 credit by making any purchase of $50 or more between now and December 31. And you’ll be able to get a $50 credit again when you make any purchase of $50 or more after January 1!
BMO Eclipse credit cards have an annual fee:
With the Lifestyle Credit, this contribution is virtually reduced from $50 to $200. This makes the net annual cost of the card:
This makes them the lowest cost Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege credit card in Canada.
We currently have an exclusive welcome offer for Milesopedia readers for the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite* Card:
In your calculations, don’t forget to add this annual credit: in the first year, you could get it twice, a total value of $100!
