To the point To dream a little, here is our photo review of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, a category 5 Marriott hotel.

We were able to try out a large number of Marriott hotels in Bali and stayed at this one in January 2020. We wanted to give you as much choice as possible for a future stay.

Location

The hotel is located on the south-eastern part of the island, 20 minutes from Denpasar International Airport via a toll road, avoiding internal traffic.

Around the hotel

Around The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, there is a large convention center, a hospital and some shopping streets. An open-air shopping center is located nearby, as well as a golf club.

There is definitely something to do in the area, after a beach session.

Hotel reception

The reception hall is huge and impressive. You enter a large and bright complex with a café in the center and several reception counters in a row on the right. A workspace is also available.

The hotel is child-friendly. In front of the reception desks, a few games are available in a quiet area, perfect to keep them waiting during check-in.

In addition, we were given a water bottle, a book of drawings and games, and the program of activities. The kids were delighted.

An employee took us to our room. One Suite with King-size bed.

Our room

The Suite is large and consists of three rooms: a lounge with an adjoining office area, a dining room and the bedroom.

On the lounge side, there was an office space, a coffee counter, a fridge and a small water closer attached.

Each space is delimited by partitions. I found the rooms a bit cramped as a result, at least for our family of 4. The children’s single bed had been set up in the dining room, limiting movement around the table.

Anyway, the room was sober and comfortable, there was an office space with an armchair in a corner, as well as access to a terrace.

Our suite overlooked the gardens, so we were more in the shade. The light inside was not at its best because of the awning, but the terrace was pleasant, thanks to its nice temperature and the little birds we could hear singing.

Finally, a welcome gift was waiting for us on the table with a message: the fruit platter and its jar of nuts were well appreciated!

Bathroom

At the entrance to the bathroom, there is a large dressing room. A bench across the width of the bathroom with a mirror up to the ceiling gave an impression of space.

In the wardrobe, there is a chest and a hanging robe. Another was in the bathroom.

The bathroom was a nice size, consisting of a single sink with a bathtub facing it. At the back were a shower and toilet.

Hotel services

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua offers a wide range of services. It’s easy to find something to do, and same goes for the children.

Breakfast

The children had their own breakfast area with a TV showing classic series. A mascot was present to entertain them. Staff members regularly checked on them to make sure everything was going well.

The breakfast offer was impressive. See for yourself:

During breakfast, we realized the big amount of people who stay in the complex, as it is a place for congresses or events.

DĂ©li The Lobby Bar & Lounge

We took advantage of the tea service offered at the Lobby Bar & Lounge, a very good moment with the family on the terrace, sitting in the semi-circular sofas. The food presentation and flavours were perfect.

For those who just wanted to have a coffee with a pastry, the offer was just as tempting. Finally, we had the option of having a cocktail on the other side!

Other restaurants complete the service offer of the establishment, on the terrace, on the beach or near the swimming pools.

Beach

You have the choice: beach or pool! Both are very good. We particularly liked the beach at the end of the day and in the evening to enjoy some shisha. There is also service, but with smaller portions.

Please note: mosquito repellent was required in the evening; fortunately the staff gave us some.

Swimming pool

The complex offers several swimming pools with plenty of deckchairs. Once again, you are spoilt for choice in terms of place, and can even enjoy a coconut in the sun.

There was a calm swimming pool reserved for the adults, with a more animated space for the older children with a supervised slide, and a pateaugoire for the youngest, protected from the sun. Alexandra loved playing with the big kids, we had a fabulous time with other hotel guests playing a game of ball with them in the water.

Fitness room

The fitness room offered a wide range of equipment. Not many people were there.

Kids Club

Finally, what can we say about the Kids Club except that the children loved it.

There was an activity schedule. The staff made sure that the children were not too much in the sun. Two spaces were available, one for the little ones and one for the older ones.

Games and Care for Children

In addition to the pool slide, there were pool tables, a foosball table, and a hockey table.

Bicycles were offered, and you could ride them along the waterfront.

Finally, there was a youth care center offering services such as manicures and pedicures.

Games and Care for Parents

We didn’t find the Heavenly Spa easily, we had to ask and walk a bit, as it is actually a bit hidden. You have to take a hallway past the reception desks that leads to another pool and ask to be taken to the Spa.

A staff member will pick you up in a cart and you will be there in a few minutes.

The Spa offers a section for women and one for men, both almost identical. Treatments are available of course. The place is very beautiful.

Our general impression of the hotel

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, is a great choice for those looking for a relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the sandy beach and the activities for the children.
