The SpringHill Suites St. George Washington was built on the Green Spring Golf Course. Located near Snow Canyon State Park, Sand Hollow, Dixie Convention Center, shopping centers and several restaurants, make it a great choice for a stay in St. George.
During this trip, St-George was in my opinion a nice stop to complete this 2 weeks trip. There are really a lot of things to do in the area and honestly, I was charmed by this city surrounded by mountains! Since it’s a very hot location, SpringHill Suites caught my eye with its outdoor pool and with beautiful parks to visit nearby.
I used my two Marriott Bonvoy certificates worth 35,000 points each to make the reservation for two nights.
By the way, the value of the room was 35,000 points, which meant that I was using the maximum value of my certificate. The value in Canadian dollars for 2 nights was $738.
So we saved $468 considering the annual fee on my two Marriott Bonvoy credit cards. The Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card and the Marriott BonvoyMD Business American Express®* Card are two cards I keep in my wallet year after year to benefit from the certificate.
The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points for free stays at more than 8,000 hotels worldwide is with the Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card (and/or the Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Card).
In addition to the exceptional welcome bonus of each of these two cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all your purchases and 5 points per dollar at any of the Marriott establishments. On top of that, every year, you’ll receive a free hotel night certificate (worth 35,000 points) and 15 Elite Night Credits toward your Marriott Bonvoy status.

The reception was exemplary, fast and efficient at SpringHill Suites St. George Washington. They explained to us the hotel’s amenities and the rules for the pool. The small convenience store is conveniently located near the reception and is accessible at all times.
The common area is very pleasant with its wooden ceiling. There is even a computer corner with a printer if needed. There is plenty of choices if you want to settle in and orange ice water is available at all times. It is in this area that you will be able to eat breakfast between 6:00 and 11:00 a.m. on weekdays and from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. on weekends.
Located on the 3rd floor, the window looked out onto the golf course. I didn’t find the room very bright despite the drawn curtain, because the window is narrow. We had 2 queen size beds with a desk area and a sofa bed. A refrigerator and a coffee maker are left at our disposal. The room also has a large closet which I find very practical when we are four people sharing a room.
The hotel has a full fitness room if you feel like moving and can’t stand the heat of St. George!
The pool remains the main attraction of the SpringHill Suites St. George Washington. Open until 11:00 pm in the evening, there is no lifeguard supervision. Towels are available at the hotel reception. You must unlock the doors to access them with your room key.
The space is very large and even has some beds with built-in sunshades. The pool is protected by a net so that it doesn’t get hit by a golf ball from the green next door!
The spa can be great for relaxing in the evening, as the day is a bit hot for a long soak. I like it to be round with a unit in the middle. It allows being several without seeing everyone.
Right next door, a terrace is available with beautiful fireplaces. The place is very pleasant to come and have a drink in the evening. In fact, on the first night, there was a group that was partying a little loudly. However, at 11:00 pm, SpringHill Suites St. George Washington enforced the peace and quiet of the area by closing the section at the same time as the pool’s closing time.
If you have drinks at your hotel’s bars and restaurants, don’t forget to charge these expenses to your room bill, earning up to 17.5 points per dollar based on your Marriott Bonvoy status!
When you check out, pay with your Marriott Bonvoy® Amex®* card to earn 5 points per dollar!
Several activities are offered in the area and for all tastes! Here are some of them.
Ten minutes from the hotel, this beautiful botanical garden has many species of plants, trees and cacti! The yellow flowering trees definitely stole the show! I recommend it if you are in the area!
You can see the view from the top, and walk around the bowl. It is also an excellent spot to see the sunset!
Only 20 minutes from the hotel, it would be a shame to miss this place! Arrive very early or late in the day because it is hot. Here, not a single drop of rain has fallen in 3 years…
Activities to do:
We were lucky enough to be accompanied by a volunteer who gave us lots of information about the fauna and flora present. A very instructive walk!
52 acres of playground to wander around in! Here, I suggest you come after dinner to walk and watch the sunset. Besides, many locals seem to meet here. There is no defined path. Go there at your leisure but don’t miss this beautiful city park!
The welcome, the quietness of the place, the swimming pool and the breakfast included pleased me a lot at SpringHill Suites St. George Washington. A hotel that I would not hesitate to recommend. St. George is a 2-hour drive from Las Vegas, which I think makes it a great destination for those who don’t want to drive too far, but don’t want to stay in Las Vegas.
