On our return from our family trip around the world, shortened because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we took the opportunity to make a final 3-night stop at the Sinapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel.
A few months before, Jean-Maximilien had stayed with Jean-Francois at The Vagabond Club, Singapore, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Although charming, this hotel is not suitable for families, hence our decision to book the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel.
This one has large rooms as well as a very pleasant swimming pool, a true haven of peace before the confinement that was awaiting us in Canada!
The Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is a category 5 hotel. A stay thus costs between 30,000 and 40,000 points.
Since Singapore was closing in on itself because of COVID-19, we did not use points: the rates were very attractive at around $120 per night!
Nous avons payé ce séjour avec notre Carte Marriott BonvoyMC American ExpressMD afin d’obtenir 5 points Marriott Bonvoy par dollar.

The Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is ideally located on the famous shopping street, Orchard Road.
You will be right next to the shops and malls. The hotel entrance is majestic, with valet service and taxis available.
After crossing a short corridor that also leads to offices and a commercial area, one enters the large lobby hall. It is made up of several spaces.
At the center, a comfortable lounge with seats or sofas, where we had dinner several times. To the left of the entrance, the Java+ deli offers snacks, cakes, delicious pastries, and at the back, there’s the Marriott Café room and its buffet for morning breakfasts.
We let ourselved be tempted by pastries and cakes. Finally, the counter space to check in. A hall with large columns and high ceilings give a glimpse of the few upper floors.
Let’s not forget that we were at the beginning of the Covid period (mid-March 2020). We had to wear our masks when we talked to the staff. All facilities were cleaned regularly and inspected. The staff was welcoming throughout our stay.
Access to the rooms is via the elevators located behind the check-in counters. Everything is airy, sober and well decorated.
We’re going into the bedroom. We find a living room space. Next to the TV, snacks are available, some of which have to be paid for, as well as everything you need to make coffee.
Facing the living room, we find an office space, where Jean-Maximilien spent a lot of time taking care of our return to Canada, the borders closing one after the other!
At the entrance of the room is also a bathroom with toilet, very practical for the children since they slept in the living room.
The room is of a beautiful size, with quality furniture.
Bathrobes, slippers and other accessories are arranged in a cupboard in the bedroom. There is also a safe deposit box and an ironing board.
The bathroom is well organized, in the kind of style I like. It has a bathtub and a shower as well as a counter with two separate basins.
It is well lit and functional. The only drawback is the access to the bath taps in the corner.
A staff member rang the doorbell to bring us a welcome tray.
We had the choice of having breakfast in the private Club lounge, depending on your Marriott Bonvoy status, or at the Marriott Café located on the ground floor behind the Java+ counter.
The Club lounge is located near the pool. We were greeted by one of the staff members, to whom we gave our name and room number.
The bay window overlooks the pool. The space is pretty big.
The buffet area includes a wide choice of food. We did not enjoy it much though, as children are not allowed in and we couldn’t take food out of the lounge. Too bad, the offer was good.
The breakfast offered was more copious on the ground floor, we recommend it! There was very wide choice of food. Hydroalcoholic gel is available for everyone at the entrance of the Marriott Café, which is very handy before enjoying a buffet.
A buffet more than well stocked, suitable for children, with a choice of breads, soups, ice creams and many more. We enjoyed eating there, especially since this one was free with our Titanium Marriott Bonvoy status.
To give you an idea of the cost, a breakfast for 2 adults should have cost us almost $100 SGN (almost equivalent in Canadian dollars)!
We are very happy to have a status with Marriott Bonvoy, which allowed us to save a lot of money during this world tour.
In other words, we were full after a meal like this one and only ate afterwards at the end of the day.
To continue, our Marriott Bonvoy status allowed us to enjoy the food in the hotel lobby free of charge. At first glance, we thought the offer would be small. It was not the case at all!
You have the choice to order what you want on the menu, with bonus dessert at the Java+ deli, and the dishes are delicious!
The pool is very large. In the water, there are pressure jets to massage your back. There are also 2 spaces for the little ones on each side.
A large number of deck chairs are set up all around with the possibility to stay in shaded areas: it is perfect for our little family.
Finally, you will see that several suites overlook the pool on either side.
A complete equipment is there.
Even a basketball court!
We recommend the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel! A well-located, welcoming hotel with luxurious and spacious facilities. The swimming pool is the perfect complement. We loved our stay, especially since it was our last “vacation” days before our lockdown in Montreal!
We also took advantage of the shops one last time to keep the children happy and busy.
