Tutorial Marriott Bonvoy: The ultimate guide to Marriott Bonvoy
To the point The Courtyard Mexico City Airport, directly connected to Benito Juárez International Airport, is ideal for travelers in transit or with an early flight.
  • Directly connected to the terminal
  • Complete restaurant
  • Soundproofed rooms
  • Fairly high rates

Located directly at Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX), the Courtyard Mexico City Airport offers a convenient accommodation solution for travelers in transit or those with an early morning flight.

Its direct connection to Terminal 1 via a covered walkway is a particularly attractive option for eliminating the stress associated with transport in the Mexican capital.

Booking

To stay at the Courtyard Mexico City Airport, budget between $200 and $400 CAD per night, or 18,000 to 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. Rates are higher than at other hotels in town, but being directly at the airport justifies the extra cost.

For a more affordable option, the City Express by Marriott Aeropuerto Ciudad De Mexico is an excellent alternative. However, you’ll need to take a shuttle to the airport, as the hotel is not directly connected to the terminal.

Arrival

Location

The great advantage of the Courtyard Mexico City Airport is its direct connection to Terminal 1 via a covered walkway. Forget the shuttle bus or cab, you can reach the hotel in just a few minutes on foot.

In a city like Mexico City, where traffic is notoriously dense, this advantage is invaluable for avoiding the stress of missing your flight.

Check-in and Lobby

The reception area is large and cozy, with a color palette dominated by mauve tones. Behind reception is a small, convenient convenience store offering snacks, drinks, alcohol, a few drugstore items and a microwave.

As a welcome gift, we received typical Mexican sweets and local beers. Check-in was quick and the staff friendly.

Bedroom

For my stay, I had a spacious room with a king-size bed and a sofa bed. This room can accommodate up to four people.

Despite the proximity of the airport, the soundproofing in the room is very effective and provides a good night’s rest.

The room is equipped with a flat-screen TV, mini-refrigerator, wardrobe, safe and work desk.

Although not very large, the bathroom is functional. It has a spacious shower and all the necessary toiletries.

Restaurant Centro

Breakfast

The hotel’s restaurant, Centro, serves breakfast from 6 am to 11 am. There are two options: a full buffet at around $28, or an à la carte menu.

The buffet offers a wide choice of dishes to suit all tastes, with American, European and Mexican classics such as pancakes, pastries and traditional chilaquiles. The selection of coffees and juices is equally varied.

During my stay, I wasn’t able to enjoy breakfast because of my very early flight. However, the hotel offers a practical solution for travelers in this situation: you can request a packed breakfast the day before if you leave before the restaurant opens at 6am.

Lunch, dinner and bar

The hotel’s Centro restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The menu offers a variety of dishes to suit all tastes, including soups, salads, chicken, meat, pizzas, pastas, some Mexican specialties and burgers. Options cover both light meals and hearty dishes.

The restaurant also features a bar section that spans the floor, where customers can order a variety of cocktails and alcoholic beverages (if you haven’t tried a Mezcalita yet, now’s the time!).

Other Services

Gym

The hotel has a well-equipped gym, open at all times. It features a range of cardiovascular and strength-building equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals, free weights and weight machines. There’s also an area dedicated to stretching and yoga. Towels are provided free of charge.

Inner courtyard

The hotel features a large inner courtyard lit by natural light thanks to a central skylight.

This area is home to a number of shops and services, including a café serving Starbucks brand drinks and snacks. A fountain is located at its center.

Tables and chairs are available for customers to relax, work or wait for their flight in this area. Wi-Fi is available free of charge.

Shuttle

If your flight departs from Terminal 2, a free shuttle service is available. It leaves regularly every 20 minutes.

Around the Hotel

Located directly in Mexico City’s international airport, the Courtyard Mexico City Airport offers few opportunities to explore the surrounding area.

However, travelers with a little time on their hands can easily reach downtown Mexico City by cab or public transport. Travel times vary according to traffic conditions, but allow just under 30 minutes by cab or 45 minutes by metro to reach the historic center of the Mexican capital.

Overall Impression

Overall, the Courtyard Mexico City Airport is a convenient and comfortable choice for travelers in transit or who need quick access to the airport.

The rooms are spotless, well-equipped and soundproofed, offering quality rest. The hotel’s various services, such as the Centro restaurant, gym and courtyard, offer places to eat, relax or work in pleasant surroundings.

The hotel staff are professional and helpful, striving to make guests’ stay as pleasant as possible.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a practical, comfortable and well-equipped hotel for a stopover in Mexico City, the Courtyard Mexico City Airport is a good choice.
