We were able to stay in a multitude of hotels of the Marriott Bonvoy chain in Bali, including the Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian. Here is our review!
During our stay in Kuta, we had the opportunity to try 3 hotels:
Here is a first article on the Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian. We’ll do the review soon for the other two!
The hotel Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian is category 2 in the Marriott Bonvoy program. A free night is accessible from only 10,000 points!
And by taking advantage of the Stay 5 nights for the price of 4, you could get 5 nights for as little as 40,000 Marriott Bonvoy points in low season!

The Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian is as its name suggests, located in the Legian area in Kuta along a river.
Kuta is a very touristy city with lots of people in the streets and traffic; generally popular with surfers and travelers eager for shopping and nightlife. You will therefore always find a very lively atmosphere and many small shops. Numerous hotel complexes have settled there. There’s no shortage of choices either.
We didn’t like Kuta any more than that but wanted to try the Marriott Bonvoy hotels to offer you some choices.
Although more remote than the hotels mentioned above, the hotel Fairfield By Marriott Bali Legian remains well located and preserved from the ambient cacophony of the beachfront: it was perfect for us as a family!
You will reach the beach in about 15 minutes where you can take a surfing lesson at the Double Six beach for example. The nearest and most complete supermarket, the Bintang Supermarket, is also at the same distance.
Various bars and restaurants are only a few minutes away as well as lounges for massage or a museum of illusionism. The beachwalk with its commercial center is about 30 minutes walking distance though.
We will drop off our rented car in front of the hotel upon arrival. While we check in, a valet will go and park our car in the parking lot. The parking service will be free of charge.
The hotel lobby is pleasant and chic thanks to the noble materials used, but also airy and bright with its various bay windows. A large wooden armchair allows guests to sit down. A standing workspace is available for guests to use freely.
We will get a very good service at the reception where we will get an upgrade from the room. We will have the chance to overlook the pool for the children’s enjoyment.
While waiting for the room to be ready, a welcome lemonade will be offered to us. Our luggage will be taken care of up to our room.
The outdoor facilities are organized all along. Outdoor chairs and armchairs with a central bar convithroughl will have allowed us to chat with other travellers.
You can sit at the bar with your feet in the water if you like (or not) and taste the barmaid’s very good cocktails. The kids loved the service in the water. There’s nothing better to feel on vacation!
When we get to our room, it is divided into two parts. The bathroom is located at the entrance of the room with a cupboard opposite offering bathrobes, ironing board and safe.
Afterwards, we enter the living room with the beds.
The room is not very big but very well organized. It offers two beds, a desk space but no space for a chair + coffee table for example. The decoration is sober and elegant with its wooden furniture.
A flat screen TV was available of course, but we will not use it. On the practical side, a refrigerator was also installed.
Once again, we will be offered a gift: a platter of traditional Balinese cake made from rice flour covered with coconut shavings and accompanied by coffee and a cinnamon stick.
Finally, a tray for the morning coffee near the office with water bottles, coffee machine and all the necessary equipment.
The bathroom is small but well organized. On his left, a shower with reusable care containers, at center the sink and on the right the toilet. The space for toiletries was limited.
Our room overlooked the swimming pool and we had our own little terrace with a chair as our only furniture and a log barrel as a small outdoor table.
Note the quality service, attentive all along with our children whether at the buffet or at the table.
We and the children really enjoyed the hotel’s kitchen. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, all equally good. The room offers tables indoors and tables of two outdoors.
The pool is central. It is the meeting point for all our guests and we were happy to have direct access to it from our terrace.
It is built on two levels, one of which is perfect for children as they have feet and can enjoy waterfalls and water games. Our son, usually very cold and shy with swimming pools, was the first to jump into the water thanks to this!
Finally, numerous installations were arranged around the pool. We had the choice to lie down and rest between classic wooden deckchairs with our feet in the water, original pieces in the shape of a canoe or a multitude of footstools in the grass.
The gym is located below the reception level. All wooden, it is clean and well equipped with all its different types of equipment. A television is also suspended if you wish to entertain yourself during your exercises.
Kuta is not what you might call a “relaxing city”, and we wanted to find a place away from the hustle and bustle.
The intimate side of the hotel Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian with its privileged access to the swimming pool pleased us a lot, as well as the very courteous and smiling service of the staff.
We will keep a very beautiful memory of it and recommend it to you, particularly for a stay with a family!
