This hotel was visited during the COVID-19 pandemic. The experience can therefore be different from a normal stay.
Aloft Dubai Creek is a category 3 Marriott Bonvoy hotel. A night paid for with points goes for between 15,000 and 20,000 points depending on the season.
I preferred to keep my points and pay for my stay with my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card given the rate I got.

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points to stay for free at over 7,000 hotels worldwide is to be a Marriott Bonvoy American Express (and/or Marriott Bonvoy Business American ExpressMD Card) cardholder.
In addition to the great welcome bonus on both cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all purchases and 5 points per dollar at Marriott locations.
And each year, you’ll earn a free hotel night certificate (35,000 point value) as well as 15 Elite nights towards your Marriott Bonvoy status.
Alternatively, you can earn Marriott Bonvoy points with American Express Membership Rewards credit cards. You can transfer Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy points at a rate of 5:6 (50,000 Membership Rewards points = 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points).
For example, with the American Express CobaltMD Card, you earn 6 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar of purchases at grocery stores, restaurants, bars, convenience stores and home delivery. It is one of the best credit cards in Canada for travellers. Find out why here.

Located less than 10 minutes from Dubai International Airport (DXB), and right next to the Deira City Center metro station, Aloft Dubai Creek Hotel is ideal for those on a short break to Dubai and exploring the city by public transport.
During my stay in Dubai, I had a rental car, which was very useful to go to different appointments. Aloft Dubai Creek Hotel has free parking, which belongs to the mall.
The reception is on the first floor.
The hotel is connected to the mall and is clearly meant to host conferences and business meetings.
But the hotel’s lobby retains the Aloft brand’s colours and style, including two pool tables.
Check-in is very quick but despite my insistence, I would not get a suite upgrade.
It is important to know that this Aloft hotel is special because it offers themed suites:
Actually, even if I had paid extra I would not have been able to get them: they were all saved for long stays. I promised myself I would go back one day with my son in the Super Hero suite!
I gave my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card as collateral and to pay for my stay there.
With the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card, you earn 5 points per dollar for all your spending at Marriott Bonvoy hotels.
This is the best credit card to have if you stay at Marriott Bonvoy hotels frequently.
The room I was offered was the basic room, with a view of downtown Dubai (and the adjoining golf course).
It is well lit and despite the fact that it also faces the motorway, no noise comes through the triple glazing.
I’ve taken a liking to Aloft hotels – which were inspired by the more upscale W brand. Everything is simple and well designed. With small touches related to the city.
The bathroom looks new and I like the combination of wood and smoked glass.
Aloft Dubai Creek has a large swimming pool overlooking the city centre.
Several spots allow you to easily isolate yourself. And there is a bar in the middle of the terrace.
Here is a view at sunset with the cabanas.
Due to sanitary restrictions, only 2 people could access the gym during my visit. I couldn’t get in to take pictures, so here is the picture from the hotel’s website. The equipment is new, as are the other facilities in the hotel.
At Aloft Dubai Creek Hotel, you can enjoy breakfast at The Canteen, the hotel’s restaurant located on the lobby level.
Breakfast is served as an assisted buffet. You can stay in the dining room or have it on the terrace (but it is particularly noisy as it is right above the motorway).
Here is a photo gallery of the available options:
If you make purchases in the bars and restaurants of your hotel, do not forget to charge these expenses to your room bill. So you’ll earn up to 17.5 points per dollar based on your Marriott Bonvoy status!
And when you check out, pay with your Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card to earn 5 points per dollar!
Aloft Dubai Creek Hotel is connected to the Deira City Center shopping center where you can indulge your shopping cravings! You can also easily reach the Dubai Creek Marina.
The airport is only 5 minutes away by car or 15 minutes by public transport with the red line on the Metro (MRed).
With the same red line, you can be at the Burj Khalifa or the Dubai Frame in 30 minutes.
In my eyes, Aloft Dubai Creek Hotel is of excellent value in the Marriott Bonvoy program.
Since it’s a category 3, a night can be booked from 15 000 points (count between 60 000 and 80 000 points for a stay of 5 consecutive nights thanks to the option“Stay 5 nights for the price of 4 by using Marriott Bonvoy points“).
