The Changi Lounge in the Jewel is perfect for passengers with long connections. The salon has a hushed ambience and was not at all busy when I visited. The large bathrooms offer showers to freshen up before your next flight.
There’s also a room with beds pods for a nice nap. If you’ve got some work to catch up on, you can do so in one of the many work areas.
A buffet of light dishes is available, as well as an à la carte menu and a full bar.
Priority Pass and Dragon Pass members have access to the Changi Lounge with a same-day boarding pass. I was able to enter this show thanks to my American Express Platinum Card®. Access can also be purchased in various packages, starting at S$25 for 3 hours.
Lounge access for Priority Pass members includes unlimited snacks and soft drinks, a hot meal, a shower and a beer. You’ll receive a coupon with your privileges.
The Changi Lounge is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm. The kitchen and bar close a little earlier, at 9 pm.
The Jewel is an annex to Singapore-Changi airport. It can be reached directly from Terminal 1, or via a footbridge from Terminals 2 and 3 (a 5-10 minute walk). From Terminal 4, take the shuttle bus to Terminal 1.
So the lounge is before security. If you are connecting, you will need to exit your terminal and pass through immigration. You’ll have to go through security again afterwards.
Once inside the Jewel, the Changi Lounge is located on level L1, between Lobby H and Lobby E. The lounge overlooks the magnificient indoor waterfall.
The Changi Lounge is spacious, with plenty of armchairs and sofas.
If you want to freshen up before or after a long flight, showers are available. Access to one of the two bathrooms lasts 30 minutes.
Towels and essential small bottles of shampoo and shower gel are provided.
A rest room is also available. However, access to the nap pods is subject to a charge of S$10 per hour.
Workspaces are equipped with multiple outlets for charging your electronic devices. Meeting rooms can also be booked.
A beautiful large wooden table is at the center of the dining area. There are also a few small tables and a nice bar.
A buffet serves light meals and snacks. Soft drinks are available, as well as juice, milk, coffee and tea.

If you’re looking for a more substantial meal, you can order a hot dish from the bar. The menu features mainly Singaporean dishes such as laksa, Tom Yum noodles and chili crab. There are also options for children.
I enjoyed my visit at the Changi Lounge. It is spacious, comfortable and equipped with showers. However, the choice of food is somewhat limited.
The staff were also kind enough to hold my suitcase while I explored the Jewel and visited the indoor waterfall.
