Buy Avios With a Bonus

Until August 25, 2025, you can buy Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios with a bonus of up to 60%. Take advantage of this flash sale!

The promotion works in increments. The more points you buy, the higher the bonus points percentage.

Here are the points purchase levels and associated bonuses:

Points purchased Percentage
5 000 à 15 000 30 %
16 000 à 40 000 40 %
42,000 and over 60 %

Please note that these percentages or point levels may change slightly depending on your profile.

So, if you buy the maximum 250,000 Avios, you’ll get 150,000 bonus Avios, for a total of 400,000 Avios. The cost is USD 5,750, or USD 1.44 cents per mile (or CAD 2 cents per mile).

This is a recurring promotion: the last one ended in June 2025 and also offered up to 60% bonus.

Buying Avios could help you in case you run out of Avios to book an airline award, if you’ve exhausted all other options for earning Avios via credit cards.

Don’t forget, you can combine your Qatar Airways Privilege Club and British Airways Club Avios by linking your accounts.

A Credit Card With No Conversion Fees

Since the purchase of Avios miles is billed in US dollars, we recommend using a credit card with no conversion fees for foreign currency transactions. Here are three of them:

Other Ways to Earn Avios

Before buying Avios, you should take a look at the other options available to you in Canada at:

All these programs are transfer partners with British Airways Club or Qatar Airways Privilege Club. So you can easily transfer your points into Avios.

Here are the best credit card offers from these different programs:

And you can even get them directly with the RBC British Airways Visa Infinite Card!

Bottom Line

Is it worth buying Avios? As with any purchase of points and miles, this will depend on your goal, and it’s important to remember that you can use them with both Qatar Airways and British Airways.

For example, if you want to experience the Qsuite, the cost of buying the missing Avios could be much cheaper than the cash price of the Qsuite. Discover our Qsuite reviews on board the A350 and the B777-300ER. Who knows, you might even get the chance to try out the all-new Qsuite Next Gen 2.0!

You’ll need to decide based on the reward flights you plan to book soon.

We advise you not to let your Avios sleep, as there may be devaluations like last year’s silent devaluation of the program.
