To the point Here is the process to get a refund for an unused airline ticket booked with AIR MILES during COVID-19.

AIR MILES now has a dedicated page for changes to a flight reservation following the COVID-19 pandemic. This follows the Government’s agreement with Air Canada to refund customers for unused tickets.

Flight Cancelled

You must submit your request for refund no later than June 1, 2021.

If you don’t submit your refund request, you will retain your travel credit, which you can use for up to 24 months from the date of your flight cancellation.

Here’s the simple process for getting a refund. Go to this AIR MILES page to first provide your AIR MILES Collector information and contact details.

You will then receive, within several months, the refund of your reservation on the original payment method for taxes and surcharges and on your AIR MILES account for the Reward Miles used at the time of the reservation.

If you no longer have the credit card you originally used, you will need to contact your card issuer to get a refund by cheque.
