There’s now a new way to earn WestJet point thanks to an enhanced partnership between two Canadian loyalty programs WestJet Rewards and Skip.
This newest expansion of the WestJet Rewards program lets members earn WestJet points on eligible Skip orders, redeem their points for Skip Credits, and access exclusive WestJet seat sales.
Additionally, members who link their accounts will have a bonus of 500 WestJet points (worth $5) deposited automatically into their account.
WestJet Rewards members can now earn WestJet points on qualifying Skip orders when they link their accounts, giving members a chance to earn their next flight or vacation even faster.
Additionally, WestJet Rewards members can also now redeem their accumulated WestJet points for Skip Credits, which can be used for purchases and deliveries made through the Skip app.
This new redemption option is in addition to the existing opportunities to redeem your WestJet points for free or discounted flights (perhaps to a nice sun destination), WestJet Vacations packages, and for gift cards and merchandise through the WestJet eStore.
The process to link your WestJet and Skip accounts is incredibly easy, and once you’ve done it you should immediately see the bonus of 500 WestJet points added to your account balance.

Linking from your Skip account:
Linking your WestJet Rewards account with your Skip account gives you the following benefits:
By linking your accounts, you’re now able to redeem your WestJet points for Skip Credits — but is this a good use of your points?
Skip Credits are available in the following denominations:
These redemption options give you a value of 0.8 cents per WestJet point, which is lower than the standard value of 1 cent per WestJet point that you get when you use them for flights and WestJet Vacations.
Given this, WestJet points are still best used for travel redemptions, but if you don’t have any plans to use them this way, or you just have more points than you know what to do with, then Skip Credits are nice way to save on a meal or some groceries.
WestJet and Skip have enhanced their partnership to give WestJet Rewards members a new way to earn points while enjoying the convenience of home delivery.
It also allows members to redeem their WestJet points for savings on restaurants, groceries, and more through the use of Skip Credits.
Now, if you’re looking to really maximize how you earn your WestJet points, you should consider one of RBC’s WestJet co-branded credit cards for your everyday purchases, and you can also check out WestJet Hotels to earn points when you book your next overnight stay.
