British Airways has announced a major overhaul of its loyalty program, to be launched under the name The British Airways Club on April 1, 2025.
This initiative is designed to simplify status qualification and make rewards more readily available to travellers.
These changes are in addition to those already implemented in 2023 for the simplified accumulation of Avios.
British Airways has decided to simplify the name of its loyalty program, changing it from British Airways Executive Club to The British Airways Club. According to the company, the new name is intended to be more inclusive and representative of all members.
The company also unveiled a new visual identity, including a logo inspired by flight paths. This curved design, formed by all the flights taken by customers, symbolizes members’ journey through the loyalty program.
The changes we have announced today underline our continued investment in our loyalty program and in our customers. Based on our Members’ feedback, we’ve built on the changes we’ve already made – including how customers collect Avios and their membership year – in a way that we believe better rewards their loyalty and reflects their changing travel needs. The British Airways Club will introduce a simplified way of earning Tier Points. From now on, members will receive 1 point for every pound (£, GBP) spent on a range of services, including:
This method of accumulating status points mirrors the system already in place for accumulating Avios. Loyalty program points are already awarded according to the amount spent on the flight, i.e. 1 Avios per £1 eligible.
To reflect this new calculation method, the qualification thresholds for each status level will be adjusted as follows starting from April 2025:
The British Airways Club will introduce additional rewards at certain milestones between status levels. Members will be able to enjoy benefits such as bonuses of 2,500, 4,000 and 5,000 Avios points at different levels within the Bronze and Silver tiers.
Further benefits will be announced at a later date.
To celebrate the launch of the British Airways Club, the company is offering its members an opportunity to accelerate their accumulation of status points (Tier Points).
By booking an eligible flight before February 14, 2025, for departure on or after April 1, 2025, you will receive bonus status points in addition to those normally awarded. The bonus ranges from 50 points to 330 points, depending on the booking class.
You must first register on this page. Basic Economy flights and flights booked with Avios are excluded from the promotion.
