To the point Easily earn Marriott Bonvoy or Aeroplan status by linking your accounts, thanks to this brand-new partnership.

Easy Marriott Bonvoy or Aeroplan Status Match

Enjoy higher status when you travel, simply by linking your Marriott Bonvoy and Aeroplan accounts. You must register on the Marriott Bonvoy and Aeroplan special page.

Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Ambassador Elite members will automatically receive Aeroplan 25K status!

Aeroplan 50K, 75K and Super Elite members will then be eligible for Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status.

This is another benefit of the partnership between these two major companies, as last month they announced that Aeroplan Elite status members could transfer their Aeroplan points to the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Allow 7 to 10 business days for the account to reflect the new status.

Unfortunately, if you are 25K or 35K, you will not be eligible for status match. The same applies to Marriott Bonvoy members with Platinum, Gold or Silver Elite status.

There will be no additional status or upgrades if you already have 25K or Gold Elite status.

25K Status With Aeroplan

To obtain 25K status with Aeroplan, a member must:

  • Earn 100,000 Aeroplan points from any eligible source
  • Or Accumulate 25,000 Status Qualification Miles (SQM) or 25 Status Qualification Segments (SQS) AND spend $3,000 in Status Qualification Dollars (SQD).

As a Titanium or Ambassador Elite Marriott Bonvoy member, you won’t have to! You’ll get 25K status simply by linking your accounts. This will be valid for at least 12 months, according to the terms and conditions. So you’ll be able to keep it until the end of 2025. However, if you want to continue to have 25K status in 2026, you’ll need to meet the above conditions during 2025.

When you travel with Air Canada and the Star Alliance network, you will enjoy many privileges during your trip, including:

  • Priority check-in, boarding, and prioritiy queues at the airport
  • Two free checked bags
  • Credits eUpgrades
  • Choice of seats free of charge
  • Priority Rewards
  • Maple Leaf lounge passes, additional eUpgrades credits (to choose from), etc.

Gold Elite Status With Marriott Bonvoy

To be a Gold Elite member, you need to obtain at least 25 Elite nights per calendar year. Thanks to this partnership, you won’t have to.

Additionally, you’ll keep the status for the rest of the current year (2024), for the whole of the following calendar year (2025) and for the first 2 months of the calendar year after that (i.e. until February 28, 2026).

When you stay at a Marriott Bonvoy hotel, you’ll get several benefits:

  • 25% points bonus
  • Priority late check-out until 2 p.m.
  • Reservation guarantee
  • Welcome gift
  • Elite Special Booking Line
  • Upgrade to a superior room if available

Bottom Line

Take advantage! This is a great opportunity to save money and make a trip more enjoyable.

As this partnership has no end date, it’s up to you to calculate whether you want to wait until January 2025 to take advantage of this status match.
