To the point Here are the differences between Marriott hotel brands to help you choose the best hotel for your trip and your budget.

Marriott International

The Marriott hotel chain has 37 different brands in its portfolio.

With so much choice, Marriott International is sure to have at least one or more hotels in a given region. In this way, they meet the needs of their customers according to their travel style and budget (and, by the same token, ensure their loyalty!).

This way, you can book a basic room at the TownePlace Suites Petawawa or an overwater villa at the sumptuous The Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort. There’s something for every taste and every price.

Marriott is one of the world’s largest hotel chains. Mr. John Willard Marriott and his wife Alice Marriott got their start in the hotel industry with the opening of their first hotel in January 1957, in Arlington, Virginia. Originally, the basic room rate was $8, with an additional charge of $1 per person in the customer’s car.

Today, Marriott International counts:

  • Over 8,900 properties
  • 1,600,000 rooms
  • Hotels in over 141 countries and territories
  • 411,000 employees

All hotels can be seen at a glance in this comprehensive map of Marriott hotels worldwide.

There are four categories of Marriott brands:

  • Long stays
  • Select
  • Premium
  • Luxury
