10 Destinations for Your 2026 Summer Vacation Using Aeroplan Points

Here are several destination ideas for a getaway during summer 2026.

How Many Aeroplan Points Do You Need for a Flight

The Aeroplan program allows you to travel on Air Canada or its 53 partners, such as:

On an Air Canada flight, the price in Aeroplan points is dynamic and fluctuates according to market prices, in cash. All seats are available as long as there is room.

Whereas for partner carriers, the cost of points is always fixed and predictable, but with a limited number of seats available.

Furthermore, when you book a flight with Air Canada or a partner using your Aeroplan points, you avoid paying the carrier surcharge! This represents a saving of several hundred dollars. This additional fee includes fuel and other extra charges you would normally have paid.

For example, a one-way Economy Class flight between Montreal and Paris costs:

• Between 35,000 and 60,000 Aeroplan points with Air Canada + taxes and fees
• 35,000 Aeroplan points + taxes + $39 partner booking fee with Lufthansa or United Airlines (subject to change)

To get an idea of how many Aeroplan points you need for your dream trip, the Points Predictor tool is available on the Air Canada website.

If your travel date is very popular, the points required may be at the higher end of the scale. Conversely, if you are flexible, booking in advance or last minute, your flight ticket will likely cost you fewer Aeroplan points.

All point examples in this article show the Aeroplan points required for one person and for a one-way trip only, in Economy Class.
