Air Transat has just announced a network expansion for summer 2026. This includes the launch of new transatlantic routes and the transformation of seasonal routes to the South into year-round destinations.
The city of Quebec (YQB) will gain a new direct route to Marseille (MRS), operated from May 21 to October 8, 2026. This weekly Thursday flight opens a gateway to the South of France. Furthermore, the Quebec-Fort-de-France (FDF) route will now be available year-round.
For the first time in its history, Ottawa will host direct transatlantic flights from Air Transat with an exclusive route to London-Gatwick (LGW). This new route will be operated three times a week starting May 15, 2026.
In addition, a new Ottawa-Montreal route, in service from May 5 to October 23, 2026, will facilitate access for travellers from the capital to Air Transat’s extensive network.
This initiative builds on the expansion with Porter Airlines, Air Transat’s partner, positioning Ottawa as a strategic hub in Eastern Canada. Together, the two airlines make it easier for travellers from Ottawa to reach international destinations with convenient connections between both carriers.
This way, you can enjoy simpler connections and perhaps use VIPorter points with Air Transat!
And finally, Air Transat is increasing its presence in Latin America by extending several routes year-round:
*Note that the Montreal-Cartagena (YUL-CTG) route will now be operated continuously and extended to Medellín (MDE). The future Toronto-Cartagena-Medellín route follows the same model, which will be inaugurated on November 2nd and also offered year-round.
Air Transat will announce more such news in the coming weeks for summer 2026. All these new flights can be booked today on the Air Transat website.
We look forward to seeing how the partnership between Porter and Air Transat will help VIPorter points holders maximize their travel rewards with these new destinations.
