To the point On a recent business trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, I was able to visit The Club LAS lounge at the Las Vegas - Harry Reid airport.

I took advantage of this place a few hours before my departure from the airport. Here’s my review of the lounge and how to get there.

The Club LAS lounge - Location of the lounge

The lounge is located in concourse D of Terminal 3, near gate D33.

If you’re traveling with Air Canada or WestJet, your check-in counter will be in Terminal 3, and your departure gate will be in Concourse D, just a few minutes’ walk from this lounge.

Air Canada and WestJet customers access the lounge via an underground “Red Train” from Terminal 3.

The Club LAS lounge - How to get there?

The easiest way to gain free access to The Club MCO lounge is to be a member of the Priority Pass program.

Note that contrary to what you might think, presenting a Platinum CardMD from American Express is not enough to give you access to this lounge.

The trick is to use one of the privileges of your American Express Platinum Card® (or Business Platinum Card® from American Express), which gives you a subscription to the Priority Pass program absolutely free of charge. It is therefore important to have activated your Priority Pass subscription a few weeks before your visit.

Once your membership has been activated, you can use the Priority Pass application on your phone to display your Priority Pass virtual membership card. The lounge receptionist will simply scan the QR code displayed on the virtual map into your phone. If you have your physical card in hand, this should also work.

Access to the lounge is for the Priority Pass primary cardholder and a traveling companion.

Access is authorized 3 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure. Children under two years old are admitted free of charge. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Club LAS Lounge - My lounge experience

When I arrived at the lounge around 10 a.m. on a Friday morning in early December, I can confirm that the capacity reached was no more than 50%.

There was no line to get in, unlike the nearby American Express Centurion Lounge, where I estimated the wait to be about 15 minutes.

This is one of the lounge’s strong points; it’s usually less crowded than the American Express Centurion Lounge.

Even though I arrived at the lounge four hours before my departure, the receptionist didn’t care about the “three hours early” rule and simply invited me into the lounge immediately.

There were several seating configurations and places to charge your electronics. One room in particular offered chairs with footrests.

The lounge offers two private showers. If you have a red-eye flight, it might be worth taking advantage of it before you leave.

In my case, I was more interested in discovering the food on offer so I could have breakfast before embarking on a long day’s travel to Ottawa.

At first glance, the food was limited to the dishes available in the buffet area, but you should know that you can also use the QR code affixed to your table and order your food and drinks right from your phone.

Don’t make the mistake of settling for just the food on offer at the buffet, as there’s much more choice if you place your order using your phone.

Here are the pancakes and yogurt I received, ordered with the QR code.

Bottom Line

Don’t expect to find anything like the American Express Centurion Lounge in this lounge, but The Club LAS is still an excellent alternative and delivers the goods, without frills, in a quiet space.
