WestJet Airlines offers the WestJet Rewards loyalty program. Here’s how to earn, use and manage WestJet points and affiliated credit cards.
The currency accumulated, formerly known as “WestJet dollars,” became WestJet points on April 30, 2025.
On flights and vacation packages, the amount of WestJet points earned depends on your status. You can earn between 1 to 8 points per dollar spent on the following fees:
The two credit cards issued by RBC also allow you to earn from 1 to 2 WestJet points per dollar on purchases:
Flights with partners (American Airlines, Air France, KLM, Delta, Qantas, etc.) also earn WestJet points, depending on class and distance flown.
It is also possible to earn points on WestJet Vacations packages as well as on car rentals booked with WestJet.
For your online shopping, you can now go through the WestJet Rewards eStore to earn points on every dollar spent with WestJet Rewards partner retailers.
WestJet points can be used for:
It is now possible to pay the entire cost of a flight or a vacation package with WestJet points, which was not possible during the time of WestJet Dollars.
The price in WestJet points depends on availability and class, from the lowest (Econo) to the most flexible (Plus). On partner flights (excluding code-share flights) such as Delta, the full base fare must be paid in WestJet points. Please note that only certain destinations are open.
Finally, it is also possible to redeem your WestJet points for merchandise and gift cards through the WestJet Rewards eStore. However, generally speaking, this is not the most optimal way to use your points.
There are four status levels within WestJet Rewards program: Teal, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
To reach these different statuses, it is necessary to spend a certain amount on flights within 12 months on WestJet flights, with the exception of the base level, which is Teal.
In addition to earning WestJet points faster, Silver, Gold and Platinum members enjoy benefits such as lounge access, free checked baggage, free ticket change and more.
WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard cardholders can reach a higher level more quickly by spending on their card.
WestJet Rewards members can earn additional benefits based on spending thresholds reached with WestJet. These include:
And much more.
