Tutorial Guide: Save on Hotels with Points
To the point Overview of the Courtyard Paris Arcueil hotel, located at the Porte de Versailles in Montrouge, and part of the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Update April 2024: The hotel underwent a renovation in early 2024 of its 167 rooms. The spaces have been modernized and redecorated in a contemporary, elegant style.

We chose to stay at the Courtyard Paris Arcueil hotel when we were in Paris for the IFTM lounge. This hotel had the advantage for us of not having to enter Paris, and of being close to the Porte de Versailles, where the event took place.

Booking

The Courtyard Paris Arcueil is a small category 4 hotel in the Marriott Bonvoyprogram.

Our room cost us 20,000 Marriott Bonvoy points a night instead of $314, a very high rate given the many events taking place at Porte de Versailles. By the way, there’s also a category 4 Courtyard hotel at Porte de Versailles, but this one was fully booked.

A great reason to use points instead of cash!

During our stay, we used the Marriott Bonvoyᵐᶜ American ExpressMD Card to earn 5 points per dollar on hotel spending (including breakfast).

Courtyard Arcueil-40

The hotel has 6 floors and 170 rooms. 6 categories of rooms are available:

  • Deluxe: a room with a king bed.
  • Deluxe: a room with two twins or single beds.
  • Superior: one room with a king bed, including breakfast and Wi-Fi, high floor.
  • Superior: one room with two twins or single beds, including breakfast and Wi-Fi, high floor.
  • Superior with terrace: a room with a king bed including breakfast and Wi-Fi, top floor with balcony.
  • Family room: two rooms with a king bed and two twins or single beds.

The hotel is perfect for small companies wishing to meet because of its 5 meeting rooms and its location.

Location

The Courtyard Paris Arcueil is a fifteen-minute cab ride from Orly Airport, in the southern suburbs of Paris. Bus and train are also possible (and much cheaper) but would have taken twice as long. With the evening already well underway and just the two of us, our choice was quickly made.

Buses, metro and RER trains are all within easy reach of the hotel, just a few minutes’ walk away.

For information, from Orly airport, you will have to take a suburban cab because the hotel is not in Paris.

Around the hotel

Opposite the hotel is a large shopping center, La Vache Noire, with numerous boutiques. Therefore, all essential shops are available within walking distance.

In addition to the stores, there is a cinema next to the hotel, as well as restaurants and fast-food outlets.

Hotel reception

When we arrived in the lobby, people were having a drink at the bar, a good atmosphere war present.

The receptionist was charming at the counter. After giving us all the information and a bottle of water, we headed to our room, a Deluxe category.

The corridors and common areas are minimal.

Our Room

The room’s design is modern. This one is a good size (for Paris). The room is clean, nothing to complain about, and I found the bedding comfortable.

Our room faced the street, but we were not disturbed by the traffic. The usual amenities were available: alarm clock, coffee/tea maker, iron and ironing board, safe, television, and a mini-fridge.

Marie-Claude was also able to stay at this hotel. Here are a few photos of her renovated bedroom:

Bathroom

The bathroom was a classic one with a bathtub-shower, a washbasin and the toilet. Space is optimized.

Again, comparatively speaking, this is the bathroom in the room obtained by Marie-Claude:

Hotel services

Parking

The Courtyard Paris Arcueil hotel is located next to a shopping mall with a large 24-hour car park.

Breakfast

Before leaving for the lounge, we settled in and enjoyed the breakfast buffet, a simple and decent offering of juices, cereals and hot dishes.

Unfortunately, breakfast is not included in Courtyard hotels with Platinum status and above. Here, the cost is 18 euros.

Meeting room Les Arches

Since April 2024, the Courtyard by Marriott in Paris Arcueil offers a brand new meeting space called Les Arches. This space, equipped with modern audiovisual equipment, can accommodate up to 50 people for your corporate meetings.

Fitness room

A fitness room is available, but we did not have the time to visit it.

Our general impression of the hotel

The hotel Courtyard Paris Arcueil is a good compromise if you want to stay at a lower price on the edge of Paris and be relatively close to the center. It’s a stopover hotel for those attending conventions at Porte de Versailles or connecting to Paris Orly.

When booking, the prices were crazy, so we were happy with our choice.
