A great option for couples, business and leisure travellers, the Courtyard Osaka Honmachi is a well-located hotel that offers a comfortable and peaceful stay.
The Courtyard Osaka Honmachi is strategically located, ideal for both business and leisure travelers. Located in the heart of Osaka, this hotel offers easy access to major attractions and business centers.
Indeed, the Namba district can be reached in around 15 minutes by metro, with its stores, restaurants and nightlife. This is also where you’ll find Osaka’s iconic Dotonburi.
Osaka Castle is just a 30-minute walk away, and this historic attraction is a must-see. Finally, the Umeda Sky Building can be reached in 25 minutes by metro and offers impressive panoramic views of the city.
The hotel is also well served by public transport, with Honmachi subway station just a few minutes’ walk away. This makes it easy to get around the city and to Kansai International Airport and Kyoto.
The Courtyard Osaka Honmachi is surrounded by numerous shops and restaurants, making it very convenient for both short and long-term stays.
Of the nearby dining options, my favorites were:
We appreciated the diversity of nearby dining options, both in terms of culinary styles and budget. Not having a high status with Marriott Bonvoy, it was easy to get breakfast around the Courtyard Osaka Honmachi. Personally, we love stopping by 7/11 to pick up onigiri and other small dishes when the restaurants are closed.
My reservation at the Courtyard Osaka Honmachi was made the same day before our arrival via the Marriott Bonvoy app, using one of my free night certificates obtained through my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card and my Marriott BonvoyMD Business American ExpressMD* Card.
Indeed, due to a change of plans, we decided to go to Osaka instead of Cambodia, as it was too hot. The advantage of having a certificate made our stay very economical, especially given the fact that we were last minute and the high hotel rates in high season; we were in the middle of Golden Week in Japan.

Check-in at the hotel went smoothly. We arrived in the early hours of the morning following a flight delayed by a storm and were greeted by courteous, efficient staff. We got our room quickly as there were no other guests at that time.
We chose a standard room with a king bed for our stay at the Courtyard Osaka Honmachi. The room, which was spotlessly clean, wasn’t quite right for our stay because of its small size. Indeed, as a family of four, we felt a bit squeezed. However, it was perfect for our first night as we arrived very late, and the hotel was well-located. The modern, elegant décor created a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The bed was comfortable, with fluffy pillows and easily accessible electrical outlets on either side. The room was equipped with a flat-screen TV, mini-refrigerator and kettle.
Room amenities also included a safe, iron and ironing board, pyjamas, and luggage rack to meet guests’ varied needs.
The bathroom had a glass wall overlooking the bedroom, but there was a curtain that could be pulled down for privacy. It had all the standard amenities, but there was no bathtub, which is less ideal for families with young children. The toiletries provided were of good quality and the cleaning service was impeccable.
The Courtyard Osaka Honmachi‘s restaurant, Stitch, offers a varied buffet breakfast with Western and Japanese options. Since we woke up very late and didn’t have any status giving free breakfasts, we went to eat around the hotel instead.
Otherwise, the M18 restaurant next to the entrance offered a quick and inexpensive catering option.
The Courtyard Osaka Honmachi offers a range of additional services to enhance guest comfort.
First of all, there’s a Nespresso machine next to reception and a foreign currency converter. However, exchange rates were far from advantageous.
The hotel is also equipped with an onsen, a traditional Japanese bath. Photos were forbidden inside the onsen, as bathing is nude. It’s the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring.
The Courtyard Osaka Honmachi also features a fully-equipped training room, open 24 hours a day, with the usual equipment and weights. This installation is perfect for maintaining an exercise routine even on the move.
There’s also an affordable laundry room, which is very practical for longer stays; don’t forget your 100 yen coins. The staff is also available to help with special requests for clothes cleaning.
Our experience at the Courtyard Osaka Honmachi was super pleasant as the hotel is conveniently located and close to Osaka’s points of interest. The hotel fulfills its role perfectly as an affordable accommodation option and for using our free night certificate.
We also really appreciated using the onsen, which enabled us to relax with our child and prepared him for a good night’s sleep.
