Hilton Honors Rolls All 2020 Elite Nights To 2021

Last March, with COVID-19, Hilton Honors was the first program to take action on behalf of its members. Since then, all major hotel programs like Marriott Bonvoy have followed.

Today, Hilton Honors announces that the Elite Nights earned in 2020 will be rolling over to 2021.

Thus, all nights earned between January 1 and December 31, 2020, will be automatically rolling over to next year. You will be able to renew or get a status for 2022, expiring in March 2023.

Since 2018, Hilton Honors has been rolling over Elite nights to the next year, but these are only for qualifying nights “in excess”:

Members are only eligible to rollover qualifying nights in excess of those nights required to qualify for a member’s elite status level at the end of the calendar year (Members can rollover nights in excess of 10 eligible nights for Silver, in excess of 40 eligible nights for Gold and in excess of 60 eligible nights for Diamond). Elite rollover nights will be counted toward members’ elite status qualification for the following calendar year (January 1st to December 31st).

Conclusion

This is good news for Hilton Honors members, but most importantly, it can prompt other programs – like Marriott Bonvoy – to do the same.

But it is relatively easy to get a status with Hilton Honors:

It is convenient to focus our Elite Nights earning in more complicated programs like Marriott Bonvoy or World of Hyatt. That way, we can enjoy Hilton Honors benefits where needed(as for staying in Orlando after purchasing points).
