Air Canada is undertaking a transformation of its Maple Leaf Lounge and Air Canada Café network with a multi-year renovation program that will impact several Canadian airports. Here’s the list and your alternatives.
The Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport will be closed for renovation for approximately three months starting September 29, 2025. It is located near gates 1 and 3.
While renovations are underway, travellers can use the new Air Canada Café, which offers excellent dining options and which I had the chance to try. It is located one level below the Maple Leaf Lounge currently under renovation.
Another option is the beautiful Aspire AMEX Lounge, conveniently located nearby! If you have Aeroplan status 50K, 75K or Super Elite, you’ll be entitled to free entry.
It will be busy at Montreal-Trudeau Airport!
Alongside the renovations of the Domestic Maple Leaf Lounge at YUL, Air Canada is building another Air Canada Café in the US departures zone. This Café will be ready in early 2026 and located across from the Transborder Maple Leaf Lounge, in front of gates 72 and 73.
Halifax’s Maple Leaf Lounge in the domestic zone will remain closed longer, from October 1, 2025, to early 2027. This extended period suggests a complete renovation of the facility. We hope the aquarium and its tropical fish will return to the renovated space.
There is no Air Canada alternative to replace this lounge.
Air Canada is brewing up good news in Vancouver YVR with two Air Canada Cafés in the works!
An Air Canada Café opening is planned this fall in the domestic zone, followed by a second mystery location in early 2026.
The temporary closures may cause some inconvenience, but it’s all for a good reason. These Maple Leaf Lounges were due for a good refresh.
We will provide updates and photos when we have access to the upcoming openings (or re-openings) of Lounges and Cafés.
