As of February 29, 2024, it is no longer possible to transfer HSBC Rewards points to airline loyalty programs. We are keeping this article online as an archive.
With the HSBC World EliteMD Mastercard®, you earn rewards points on every spend (and via its welcome bonus).
You can use these reward points for any travel purchase: flights, train tickets, rental cars, hotels, Airbnb rentals, etc). The same applies to any booking made through a travel agency such as Expedia.
Or you can convert your reward points into miles. HSBC Rewards is a partner with three airline loyalty programs:
As soon as you have 25,000 points in your account, you can convert them into miles. Then in increments of 10,000 points.

And regularly, there are points transfer promotions between HSBC and these partners such as British Airways Executive Club.
Or you could book a Reward Flight with the Krisflyer program for travel on Singapore Airlines in Economy, Business or even First Class!

To use your HSBC World Elite® Mastercard® rewards points, you will need to log in to your HSBC online account. Open the menu to view your account details.
Then click on “Reward Points“. You can also visit the HSBC Rewards portal at this address.
Remember to disable your ad blocker because a new window will open. Some ad blockers prevent a new window from opening.
Once on the HSBC Rewards portal, select the “Rewards for Miles” option from the “Travel” menu. Alternatively, you can click on this link to go to this page.
Then choose one of the partner programs such as Asia Miles, Singapore KrisFlyer or British Airways Executive Club and click on “Redeem your points now.”
Then choose the number of points you want to redeem from the drop-down menu and enter your first name, last name and partner program membership number. Please note that these must be absolutely identical with the information in your airline partner account.
Then click on “Add to shopping cart.”
Then, once in your cart, you will have to confirm once by clicking on “Proceed to checkout”.
Then a second time by entering your email address and clicking on “Redeem”.
You should then receive the value of the points redeemed in miles directly into the airline partner’s account within 5-10 days.
The HSBC World Elite® Mastercard® has an annual fee of $149. Don’t forget that you also get a $100 Travel Enhancement credit each year, which virtually lowers your annual fee to $49. What’s unique about a credit card :

HSBC Rewards partners with 3 airline programs:
You can transfer 25,000 HSBC Rewards points into 10,000 Avios miles (a ratio of 0.4).
You can transfer 25,000 HSBC Rewards points into 9,000 Krisflyer miles (a ratio of 0.36).
You can transfer 25,000 HSBC Rewards points between 8,000 Asia Miles (a ratio of 0.32).
To transfer HSBC Rewards points, you must log into your HSBC online credit card account. Then select the “Redeem your points” option next to your points balance.
