Review: The Westin Bayshore Vancouver
The Westin Bayshore Vancouver hotel is conveniently located near Stanley Park and the Marina.

It is a convention-oriented complex, with many meeting rooms. However, it is nice for a stay of one or more nights as tourists.
It was a Category 6 hotel in Marriott Bonvoy at the time of my visit (during COVID-19), so I preferred to pay for my stay rather than use points.

Using my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card, this allowed me to earn 5 points per dollar on the cost of my overnight stay (about $130).
The Westin Bayshore Vancouver - Lobby
Loan bikes are parked next to the valet:
- Complimentary for the 2 first hours
- $20 per additional hour (!!)

After a quick chat with the front desk, I head to the suite in which I was upgraded thanks to my Titanium status(and a bit of my negotiating skills).

No more than two people are allowed in the elevator. Although the other elevator was down, there was no wait (reflecting the hotel’s low occupancy during COVID-19).

The Westin Bayshore Vancouver - Room
My Junior Suite at The Westin Bayshore Vancouver is located on the 9th floor, with a splendid view of the Marina.

This suite is composed of a living room with a sofa bed (ideal for families with young children). In this room, there is a large desk with all the necessary plugs.

Coffee machine, refrigerator and a safe complete the equipment under the television.

On this mid-autumn day, the temperature is perfect. And it’s really nice to be able to open the window wide to enjoy this!

The bedroom consists of a large King bed and a television.

There too, it is delightful to sit on the balcony to enjoy the late day brightness!

The Westin Bayshore Vancouver - Bathroom
The bathroom of this Junior Suite at The Westin Bayshore Vancouver is composed of:
- a bathtub
- a separate shower
- a closet containing ironing table, umbrellas and luggage racks

The Westin Bayshore Vancouver - Gym and Pool
In this time of pandemic COVID-19, it is necessary to book a one-hour time slot to access the pool and gym of The Westin Bayshore Vancouver (with a badge to pick up at the reception).
There too, given the low occupancy level, no wait in going swimming! The pool is well heated, which is nice after jogging at Stanley Park! An outdoor swimming pool is also available during summer.

In the gym, there is high-end equipment (running mats, weights, etc.).

For Yoga enthusiasts, a dedicated room is also available near the lobby.

The Westin Bayshore Vancouver - Breakfast
Staying during COVID-19, I knew that the experience would not be complete, not enjoying a real breakfast.
For Platinum and Titanium Members, The Westin Bayshore Vancouver provides a breakfast credit at the T&Co coffee shop.

Breakfast is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and a wide selection of foods is available. You can order and wait in a space dedicated to this purpose. The hotel did things right in these unusual times.

The Westin Bayshore Vancouver - Surroundings
It’s hard to believe you’re in the heart of Vancouver. Because of its outstanding location, staying at The Westin Bayshore Vancouver is really pleasant.

It is possible to get to Stanley Park in minutes (the hotel even provides a map of possible jogging routes). Or walk along the Marina and watch the seaplane landing show!

And in less than 20 minutes on foot, you could even take the boat shuttle to Granville Island!
