When we decided to visit New York as a family, we wanted an experience right in the heart of the city, and that’s exactly what The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, offered us. Located in the dynamic NoMad district (North of Madison Square Park), this hotel is a haven of peace and luxury amidst the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, and offers one of the most beautiful views of the city!
This stay was an opportunity for us and our two children to relax and discover the city at our own pace during a long weekend in New York.
There are two The Ritz-Carlton hotels in New York:
We opted for the latter, choosing to stay in the heart of the lively Madison Square Park and Times Square area to minimize the children’s fatigue from long walks, and we didn’t regret our choice. Having driven from Montreal, we easily found parking for the weekend, despite the limited number of free spaces in the neighbourhood. A stroke of luck!
The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad offers 250 rooms and suites, we were lucky enough to stay in a Skyline room with a fantastic panoramic view of all of lower Manhattan, offering a truly soothing refuge after a busy day in the city. Suffice to say, we spent a lot of time at this bay window, scanning the skyscrapers or admiring the sunsets.
There were rooms available from USD 701 + tax per night or 94,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for a basic room with a king-size bed. It’s best to book well in advance to take advantage of these rates.
For our part, we booked our stay 2 days in advance and used 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night instead of a rate of over USD 1,200. We were in town during the New York Marathon weekend, hence the soaring prices.

The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad opened its doors in 2022, and this is evident in its modern, elegant design. From the moment we arrived, we were seduced by the harmony of neutral tones and the use of luxurious materials such as marble and wood, which create a warm, refined atmosphere.
The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad is centrally located for exploring New York City. The NoMad neighbourhood (North of Madison Square Park) is vibrant and full of life, with many restaurants, stores, and attractions nearby. Within walking distance, we were able to discover iconic landmarks such as Madison Square Park and the Empire State Building. I had a blast with taking pictures.
At the foot of the hotel, you have access to the R and W subway lines (28 St Station).
Three small counters face the concierge desk. Our check-in was completed quickly with all the necessary information, and we enjoyed the following benefits as a Titanum Elite Marriott Bonvoy member:
The children were delighted to check in on a Ritz Kids tablet and receive a cute little bag from the receptionist, containing a book with challenges to complete. If they managed to complete it before the end of the stay, they were promised a gift. This added a touch of fun and magic to our arrival. This warm welcome from the staff and the attention given to the children gave me a positive first impression.
Other than that, the lobby isn’t the most impressive part of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, it’s more of a place where people simply pass through. However, right next to it is a charming, cozy lounge, flooded with light at certain times of the day and providing access to the Bazaar bar in the evening (which is closed during the day).
The room itself was lovely, simple luxury, with a large bay window offering a magnificent view of all of lower Manhattan.
Our room was equipped with modern furnishings and two double beds (not Queen, unfortunately), with an exclusive Ritz-Carlton mattress that gave us a restful night’s sleep. A fine chandelier stood above the beds and reflected slightly in the bay window in the evening, which wasn’t too inconvenient for observing the superb panoramic view.
Across from the beds was a dresser with a well-stocked minibar, and everything needed to make cocktails on the counter, which is quite rare to see.
The bathroom at the entrance to the room is made entirely of marble in shades of white and black and is a beautiful size, offering a large bathtub and walk-in shower with products from the Diptyque brand, adding a touch of luxury to every moment of our routine. Everything necessary was present.
A welcome gift was also brought to our room at the end of the day: a delicious little red cinnamon apple cookie cake, accompanied by chocolate and two bottles of water. It was a real pleasure to enjoy this gift as a family while admiring the view of Manhattan.
As lovers of good food, we were curious to discover the culinary offerings of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad. The Ritz-Carlton features The Bazaar by José Andrés, renowned for its tapas that reimagine Spanish cuisine.
We didn’t have the chance to dine there as we had other plans with the children, but the Ritz-Carlton Lounge Club gave us the chance to sample its famous appetizers and beautifully presented tapas. A true delight! The flavours were there and we were completely won over. Next time I hope to dine in the restaurant!
The restaurant is open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, 6pm to 10pm, and reserving in advance is recommended to enjoy this unique culinary experience.
The same goes for getting a table at Nubeluz, located at the top of the building. The place offers an even grander view of New York and the Empire State Building, one of the finest (if not the finest) view of Manhattan at almost 360 degrees! It’s like being disconnected from reality. The extra detail? Its open terrace overlooking the Empire State Building.
We were able to visit the space outside opening hours:
In the evening, we tried to go without a reservation. As we couldn’t get a table near the bay windows, we decided to fall back on the cocktails at the Bazaar bar on the first floor. The subdued atmosphere, the shimmering colours, we felt enveloped and set for a lovely evening as a couple.
The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad also offers a small lounge on the first floor, where you can enjoy pastries and coffee or tea in the morning, as well as the Zaytinya restaurant. Open from morning to night, you’ll enjoy a menu of mezzes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, again under the direction of Michelin-starred Chef José Andrés, in an elegant, modern setting.
The restaurant’s design, created by the Rockwell Group, features a light, neutral palette with touches of blue reminiscent of Mediterranean waters. A mix of textures and materials (wood, glass, and metal) all add a chic, warm, and luminous feel.
One of the notable advantages of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad is its Ritz-Carlton Club on a high floor. It’s undoubtedly one of the hotel’s biggest assets. We were able to enjoy full breakfasts, delicate and meticulously prepared dishes, and exceptional service, even with our children. The Ritz-Carlton Club offers a stunning view of New York, making every moment spent up there unforgettable.
Access to the Ritz-Carlton Club is available only to guests who have reserved one of the Club-level rooms (located between floors 34 and 37).
In full transparency, we had contacted The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad at the time of our booking to obtain an upgrade to a Club level room, allowing us to share it with you as media (and Titanium Elite member). We were thus able to take advantage of this great benefit.
In addition to the magnificent view, the Ritz-Carlton Club is also a very interesting place to be, since, as mentioned above, you’ll find the renowned cuisine of Chef José Andrés here from morning to night. The Ritz-Carlton Club is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. It offers the following advantages:
That’s without mentioning the service provided by the staff, who were extremely kind, helpful and welcoming every day.

The gym is open 24 hours a day and offers a full range of cardio and weight training equipment for those who want to stay active during their stay.
On the wellness front, The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad offers a spa area with sauna, hammam, and massages. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to take advantage of these facilities, preferring to explore the city with the kids. The spa staff are very attentive to your every need, and every detail is designed to provide you with a unique experience.
The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad offers a complimentary chauffeur service once a day within a 2-mile radius, which was perfect for getting to Central Park, The Edge observation point or the 9/11 Memorial and Museum without hassle.
We did just that twice, to see a Broadway show (Aladdin) and to be dropped off next to Central Park for a family bike ride. The kids loved the experience of having a car with a panoramic roof to see Manhattan’s skyscrapers.
The NoMad district is also full of trendy boutiques and cafés, and the High Linethe elevated promenade that runs through Chelsea, is easily accessible. We loved strolling along it at sunset, taking in the unique atmosphere of the city. The hotel’s central location allowed us to discover many points of interest without too much travel, which is ideal for a family stay.
