A true gem located just 30 minutes from Honolulu International Airport, the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort offers a luxurious experience on the island paradise that is Oahu. Just a short stroll from the coastal boulevard and Waikiki shopping district, the hotel boasts breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Although the beach isn’t directly accessible from the hotel, the Sheraton Waikiki more than makes up for it with its multi-award-winning infinity pool overlooking Diamond Head.
Finally, the hotel’s strategic location allows travelers to immerse themselves in the hustle and bustle of local life, exploring nearby stores, restaurants and cultural attractions.
For my part, checking into the hotel was a smooth and pleasant experience, and that’s much appreciated after a trip totaling nearly 15 hours. The large reception hall was overflowing with dedicated and available agents. Despite the fact that I had booked a basic room with my free night certificate obtained with my Titanium status, I was granted an upgrade to a King bedroom with an oceanfront view.
What’s more, I had the pleasure of receiving a bag of a size equivalent to my status, giving me the opportunity to fill it with souvenirs and amenities from the hotel boutique. This exclusive benefit demonstrates the special attention the hotel pays to its most loyal members! Please note that this benefit is reserved for Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador members.

Right in the heart of the resort’s 1636 rooms and suites, the room I stayed in at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort has been elegantly renovated and the bed is particularly comfortable. From the moment you enter, the room’s refined atmosphere creates an impression of luxury, but without pretension. Finally, it’s spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a couple for one or two nights.
However, the “wow” moment of this experience lies in the balcony, which reveals a breathtaking view of the ocean and pool below. The interior decor, while charming, becomes secondary to the splendor that unfolds before our eyes. My balcony was transformed into a private observation tower, where almost every moment was an opportunity to admire the marine wildlife (sharks, rays, turtles) and surfers. What’s more, this room offered me the opportunity to spend time gazing at Diamond Head, an icon of the island of Oahu, from morning until the magnificent sunset.
As a privilege of Platinum elite status and beyond, the included breakfasts added an exquisite touch to my stay.
But what really made these meals memorable was the spectacular setting of the restaurant, with its terrace offering breathtaking oceanfront views. The experience was simply magnificent, with the sea stretching as far as the eye could see, creating an idyllic backdrop to start the day.
A small coffee shop near the lobby adds a charming option for coffee lovers. It’s an ideal place to enjoy the relaxed, tropical atmosphere of the establishment.
In terms of lunches and dinners, given the hotel’s prime location in the heart of Waikiki, I went out to discover a few restaurants, including the Ritz-Carlton Residences, the Quiora. In addition to enjoying the terrace and the view of the elegant pool, the food is delicious and affordable (much to my surprise!). Finally, the Izakaya Pau Hana Base may not look like much, but the Japanese dishes are delicious!
Acclaimed by numerous travel magazines, the pool at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The constant sunshine throughout the day adds a pleasant dimension to the pool experience, in addition to the many deckchairs available for lounging. It’s a real tropical paradise.
The hotel’s common areas are remarkably spacious, and a selection of nearby boutiques invites travelers to indulge in a little shopping. From local souvenirs to beach essentials, boutiques add a touch of convenience to the overall experience. It can be just as practical if you want to venture out and discover the Hawaiian Islands and get equipped for snorkelling.
Finally, in the outdoor courtyard adjacent to the pool, an oasis specially designed to entertain children is laid out and looks fun, with a slide and water games. What’s more, the possibility of strolling through the surrounding tropical trees adds a magical dimension to this outdoor space, creating a heavenly ambience in the heart of the hotel.
Overall, my stay was well beyond my expectations, and it’s with gratitude that I look back on the warm welcome, unexpected upgrade and exclusive perks that enriched my experience at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort. These exceptional moments will remain engraved in my memory, making the Sheraton a preferred choice for future trips to Honolulu. I can’t wait to go back!
