The Marriott Terminal Aéroport de Montréal hotel is located in the heart of the Montréal-Trudeau Airport, making it an obvious choice for being as close as possible to check-in for early morning flights.
This hotel is classified as a category 4 hotel in the Marriott Bonvoy program. It therefore costs 25,000 points per night, like the Sheraton… which is accessible with a shuttle.
Look at the difference in money between the two for our night: CA$303 for the Marriott versus CA$204 for the Sheraton!
Suffice to say, the $120 Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card fee is pretty well paid for. This card gives you a welcome bonus of 50,000 points, enough to pay for 2 nights in this hotel! And if you wish to renew it after the first year, the card offers you one night with a maximum value of 35,000 points!
As mentioned above, we had a flight to Las Vegas the next morning at 08:00. Since we were leaving the children with their grandmother for the weekend – the first weekend for two since a long time – we didn’t want to wake up the whole household at 4am!
So we chose to use 25,000 Marriott points to sleep in this Montreal Airport Marriott Terminal Hotel.
After a quick Uber ride from the center city of Montreal, we are now at the Hotel Marriott Terminal Montreal Airport. This is located at the end of the departures pier, adjacent to the transborder terminal. An ideal situation for our morning departure the next day.
Only one employee will be present at the reception desk when we arrive, and despite the presence of a “Gold / Platinum” line, everyone will make the line.
But thanks to the recording made on our Marriott Bonvoy application (also made by the people before us), the wait won’t be very long. We’re moving quickly to the elevators…
… to our room on the eighth floor, 822.
Our room has a king size bed.
And classic, if somewhat old-fashioned furniture.
There’s everything you need to make a good cup of coffee…
Or have a glass of wine!
The room also has a wardrobe, with ironing board/iron and bathrobes (not very pleasant…).
The bathroom has a shower.
and the usual products.
For an #Avgeek like me, the main attraction of the room… is the view. Lights out then!
I had asked through the cat from the Marriott app to get a trackside room… wish granted!
As we arrived at the hotel in the evening, we decided to go and have dinner at the lounge executive which is on the 9th floor (accessible to Platinum members).
Around 7:00 pm, the modestly sized lounge was pretty well filled.
A computer with a printer acts as a “center business”.
We arrived at the right time: the hot dishes were still there and the desserts were about to be served!
We ate our meal while watching the planes rotate on the tarmac.
A large choice of alcoholic beverages is available under the formula of “honor bar”.
At the end of our hot dishes, we were lucky enough to be there for the rotation to the desserts, which here we are!
This lounge executive did not disappoint us! The hot and cold dishes were of high quality and the service was perfect! Maybe some free alcohol (wine for example) would have been nice! But that’s a detail.
We did not take advantage of the sports facilities or the swimming pool. However, these are of quality!
The swimming pool is open from 6am to 11pm and is very warm!
With a “holiday” vibe:
As for the gym, it is composed of recent and diversified equipment:
What’s better for an #Avgeek than training in front of planes?
We did not have the chance to try breakfast in this Hotel Marriott Terminal Montreal Airport because our flight was too early. However, when we registered at the reception desk, we were offered lunch boxes (free of charge). It’s very much appreciated!
The Montreal Airport Marriott Terminal Hotel perfectly fulfills its primary function: a temporary hotel before leaving on a trip from Montréal-Trudeau! It has pleasant facilities and its point rate is particularly accessible.
Being directly connected to the airport is a major advantage (especially in winter!). We’ll go back without hesitation.
If you too would like to have enough points to stay in this hotel (or one of the 6700 hotels of the Marriott Bonvoy group), here are the card s to have!
