To the point I was in Geneva for a short stay at the Geneva Marriott Hotel. Here's my review of this Marriott Bonvoy member hotel.

Vibrating to the rhythm of my favorite artists at concerts in new cities is a passion that transports me. Each concert is an invitation to discover not only the artist’s musical universe, but also a new city to explore. The Geneva Marriott Hotel, ideally located close to Geneva airport and Arena, offers the perfect base for combining my musical passion with rewarding urban escapades.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Booking

This hotel costs between 42,000 and 73,000 Marriott Bonvoy points and silver from 212 CHF or $318 (depending on the period). It might be worth doing the math before you book this hotel with your points. In my case, it was more interesting to reserve it in silver.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Location

Nestled between the mountains and Lake Geneva, the hotel offers a haven of peace just 10 minutes from downtown Geneva by streetcar and 5 minutes from the airport by the hotel’s free electric shuttle.

From the hotel, the first shuttle leaves at 4:30 a.m. and runs until 11:50 p.m., with a rotation every 20 minutes. From the airport, the first departure is at 4.40 a.m. until midnight, with a rotation every 20 minutes.

We were able to use it to get to the Geneva arena, which is located at the airport, and also to get to the train station, which is within the airport.

Please note that the hotel offers the Geneva Transport Card for the duration of your stay. It allows you to use all the city’s public transport services free of charge. I recommend that you contact the hotel before your arrival if you wish to visit the city before coming to the hotel, or request this when you check in, as we were not informed of this when we arrived.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Registration

The hotel has 2 entrances, one on the street side, accessible only on foot, and the other at the rear when arriving by car or shuttle bus. It appears to be the hotel’s main entrance.

Arriving from downtown, we went in through the front entrance (Route de Meyrin). The entrance is very large, but we arrive in a space where there’s no one to greet us. We have to cross this vast space and go down a few steps before arriving in the lobby, where someone will welcome us and take our luggage.

During check-in, we were offered a glass of a local drink. Registration was relatively quick.

The reception faces the bar, the centerpiece of the very large lobby and the main restaurant – Le Moments Social Eatery. The lobby has plenty of space to relax or work.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Rooms

We had originally booked a deluxe room and were upgraded to a junior suite thanks to Titanium Marriott Bonvoy status.

As soon as we arrive, we’ll discover a host of welcome gifts, including a bar of Swiss chocolate, fruit, a bottle of sparkling wine and Swiss red wine. It’s important to point out that the products come from Switzerland, as the hotel really emphasizes the use of local products.

To protect the environment, the hotel offers two reusable plastic bottles featuring the city’s monuments. They can easily be refilled from the fountains on different floors.

The junior suite measures 506 square feet and features a lounge and office area.

The bedding is comfortable. Directly opposite the bed, we have a very large TV screen.

The entrance hall features a mini-bar area and storage space for hanging clothes. The lounge area is comfortable, with a large red velvet sofa and two armchairs.

The bathroom is spacious, with two basins, a walk-in shower and a separate bathtub.

Rooms feature electrochromic glass windows that darken automatically according to sunlight, offering optimum control of brightness. It is also possible to take control manually.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Breakfast

Breakfast is served buffet-style at Moments – Social Eatery from 6am to 10am on weekdays and from 6:30am to 10:30am on weekends. As soon as we arrived, we were told that most of the products come from local producers. On the main wall, there’s a large map of Switzerland showing where the food comes from.

The buffet was varied but not overwhelming. The only downside was the long wait for an omelette. There was just one person to handle the orders for eggs, pancakes and waffles. The staff seemed overwhelmed, even though there weren’t that many customers.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Other services

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Training room

The training room is open 24/7. There’s plenty of brand-new, top-of-the-range Matrix equipment for cardio, strength training and yoga.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - Lounge

Access to the M Club Lounge is on the main level of the hotel, directly on the left as you enter from the street-side entrance.

The M Club Lounge is accessible to guests booking a club room and Marriott Bonvoy members with Platinum and Superior status.

The lounge is open 24 hours a day, with an indoor room and an outdoor area weather permitting. Snacks are offered at lunchtime, and hors d’oeuvres (hot and cold) and desserts are served at the end of the day. At other times, only snacks and drinks are available. The selection of dishes was of good quality but rather limited.

Geneva Marriott Hotel - My overall impression

The Geneva Marriott Hotel is a very convenient hotel, both for its proximity to the airport and to Geneva city center. It has everything to meet the needs of couples, families and business travelers alike. However, a swimming pool would have been a plus.

We appreciated the service provided by all the staff, who were quick to respond to our requests and advise us on points of interest to visit in Geneva and Switzerland.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and very well appointed. We appreciated being able to taste local products at breakfast and to see how the hotel reduces its impact on the environment.

The hotel is equipped with a wide range of event facilities, including meeting and conference rooms.
