WestJet: a new service for greater on-board comfort

To the point To make your trip even more enjoyable, WestJet is launching the "Extended Comfort" service, available to passengers who have chosen an economy fare.

From April 10, you can book this comfortable service on board 737 and 787 aircraft, announced WestJet.

“The addition of Extended Comfort reaffirms WestJet’s commitment to providing a diverse range of products to enable guests to choose what best aligns with their travel preferences and budget,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer

As its name suggests, this service will give passengers an even better travel experience on board WestJet flights.

The “Extended Comfort” option offers travellers :

  • Priority boarding;
  • Priority access to baggage compartments;
  • More legroom;
  • A separate section at the front of the Economy cabin;
  • One free alcoholic beverage;
  • A faster exit at the finish.

WestJet - How to book this new service

When booking your flight, select an Economy fare: Base, Econo or EconoFlex. Then choose the option to select seats online. At this point, you will have the option of taking an “Extended Comfort” seat.

Passengers can choose this service in several ways:

As for the fees charged, they will be based on several factors, including the place of departure and destination, the fare package purchased, the date of travel and the seat location, the airline said.

This new service will replace Préférence seats in the economy cabin. WestJet has specified that any passenger who has already purchased a Préférence seat, for travel on or after April 10, 2024, will benefit from this new experience, at no additional cost.
