The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel is conveniently located near Canada Place in Vancouver.
Classified as a Marriott Bonvoy Category 6, I preferred to pay for my stay with my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card rather than use points given the rates following COVID-19. Even if it was part of the PointSavers promotion at 35,000 points (instead of 40,000 to 60,000 points).
After a ten minute walk from The Westin Bayshore Vancouver where I was staying the day before, I arrived in front of the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel.
Check-in is done quickly. Close to the lobby, you can find an area with computers, a printer and… a microwave! Convenient for parents who want to warm up a bottle!

Let’s see my room at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel. The upgrade I got is for a bedroom on a high floor with a very nice view.
Although the hotel offers suites, this is clearly not the case during the COVID-19 period.
Our room is made up of two double beds, rather comfortable.
This is a typical Marriott room. Functional, but a little old-fashioned. However, everything is there, which includes an excellent Keurig machine.
We were given the menu available for breakfast at the Showcase Restaurant and Bar. Members with Platinum or Titanium status can have free bfreakfast there.
As far as the welcome gift is concerned, the hotel has gone beyond the traditional gift with a lot of items! If you don’t get a suite, it’s a much appreciated gesture that makes a difference!
In the entrance hall, a cupboard contains an ironing board, a safe and two bathrobes and slippers (which is perfect for going to the pool).
The bathroom is just like the bedroom: functional but old-fashioned. I do appreciate the separate shower and bathtub, though.
The highlight of the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel is the gym and indoor pool.
In the gym, many facilities are arranged and accessible, even during the COVID-19 period (with the required space between each user).
The swimming pool is large, ideal for doing laps.
Next to it, there’s a hot tub. Unfortunately, the steam room and sauna were closed due to COVID-19.
Breakfast is served at the Showcase Restaurant and Bar, located near the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel lobby.
The space is nice and bright. Usually, breakfast is served in a buffet style.
During COVID-19, it will be a table service. Our choices:
We recommend those!
Located in the Canada Place and Convention Centre area, the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel allows you to easily walk to the many tourist attractions in the area.
In the evening, we decided to have dinner at the Cactus Club Cafe Coal Harbour where the facilities to protect the customers in COVID-19 time are impressive: there are many glass walls between the different tables and at the bar.
