To the point The Courtyard Miami Airport is a great choice for travellers transiting in Miami as it is conveniently located next to MIA airport.

Courtyard Miami Airport

The Courtyard Miami Airport is a straightforward hotel, with an outdoor pool, designed for a quick airport layover.

Courtyard Miami Airport - Booking and Check-in

I booked the room the same day and paid cash because a points redemption I booked the room the same day and paid cash because a points redemption would not give me a good value, and I wanted to take advantage of the current targeted promotion in which I could earn a free night certificate after a certain number of stays.

In addition, by paying with my Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card, I earned 5X the points on my Courtyard Miami Airport hotel bill.

I arrived at the hotel mid-morning and it was very quiet; I was given my room right away even if I was hours away from the standard check-in time.

Courtyard Miami Airport - Standard Guest Room

I booked a standard Guest room with a king-sized bed and a sofa bed; I didn’t need the latter as I was travelling by myself, but it was the cheapest room.

Courtyard Miami Airport Overview 2

The room was very clean and big enough for my needs, but with the king-sized bed and sofa bed, it would have been tight for 4 people even if the beds could accommodate such a party; with that many people, you’d be stepping on each other’s toes. Also, the room wasn’t very modern.

The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the soft pillows and the electric plug on my preferred side of the bed; being huge, I appreciated not having to roll over to the other side of the bed to get to my phone. The room also included a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker, all of which were useful amenities.

In the room, there was also a safe, an iron, an ironing board, and a luggage stand.

The big downside for me was that the office space in the room was not ergonomic or comfortable, and the air conditioning system was very loud, which was not ideal as I had to work remotely during my stay.

The bathroom was clean, but the style seemed a bit dated. All the usual amenities were there, although it only had a shower; for families with small children, it may be inconvenient not having a bathtub.

Courtyard Miami Airport - Amenities

The Courtyard Miami Airport has a Fitness Center on the ground floor of the hotel with the usual machines and weights that you can access 24/7.

Also, there is an outdoor pool you can enjoy with the tropical Miami weather; the pool actually belongs to the Miami Airport Marriott, but you have access. Finally, there is a patio and a giant chess game in the yard if you wish to spend some time outdoors.

Courtyard Miami Airport - Eating options

Next to the Courtyard Miami Airport reception, you can find the Champions Sports Bar, or you can head across the Miami Airport Marriott for the Cane Fire Grille restaurant, Mia’s Pantry (grab ‘n go salads and sandwiches) or the Starbucks.

If you need a quick snack, there is a little market next to the reception.

Courtyard Miami Airport - General Impression

My experience at the Courtyard Miami Airport was relatively straightforward: it served its purpose of being an affordable place where I could stay before my early flight home. Also, depending on the points rate, it can also be an excellent use of your free annual night award.

Overall, I was left with a bad impression because the AC was so loud, and it hindered my work time and my sleep; as there are similar Marriott properties in the vicinity, I wouldn’t stay at the Courtyard Miami Airport again unless it was cheaper than the other hotels.
